Judge Rinder has signed up for the show and can be addressed anyway he prefers. If he feels uncomfortable being called "Judge Rinder" then I am sure we would tell the producers. Otherwise what does it matter?

Kenny Edmonds on DWTS is known as Babyface and referred as such. That also represents his brand along with Vanilla Ice.

SCD have had Lulu / Anastacia / DJ Spoony. Its just a nickname for them.

I don't see the problem

When the couples are coming down the stairs or just before they dance, they are introduced as Ms X from Eastenders or Mr Y from Hollyoaks. So IMHO, he should be called Robert and introduced as 'Robert from Judge Rinder'. There is no need for BBC to promote an ITV show. I have a feeling it might be in his clause to call him Judge Rinder and BBC mucked up.

As for celebs like Lulu, that is there stage name and by calling them that, BBC is not promoting anything. At the end of the day all the celebs are there to promote their brand, but no need to promote an ITV show.

He's introduced by an announcer as a star of Judge Rinder, Robert Rinder, it's just other times they call him Judge. I find it a bit pretentious, since his real name is known.

And if Judith Sheindlin appeared on Dancing with the Stars, the same people who are criticising calling hm Judge Rinder would be saying "who"? But if they said Judge Judy most people would know who she is. That's what she's know as on TV, just as Robert Rinder is better known as Judge Rinder.

Did any of you know who Robert Rinder was before he appeared on TV as Judge Rinder? I doubt it.

I never heard of Tameke either until she played Kim in Eastenders ,But they dont call her Kim .

Some of the celebs who appear on Strictly are unknown to most of the people and that is why they are introduced on every show.

Different situation. She is just one character in a soap of many characters and the soap isn't named after her either.

Robert Rinder and Judith Sheindlin are the only people in their shows and the show is named after them. And they both judge real situations where participants decide to appear before them and accept their judgement as legally binding on the show instead of going to court elsewhere. It's real as opposed to a work of fiction which Eastenders is.

For a show like Strictly, you refer to people as what they are best known as. Therefore he is Judge Rinder. It is the same as all the other names we have mentioned on here, but you do not want to accept that for some stupid reason.

Obviously, but BBC should not have agreed to call him that, because it's a rival TV show. Like I said may be he put it in his clause and BBC never bothered to check it properly. In the long run, Robert will come across arrogant for wanting to be known as
'Judge Rinder'. I hope he never gets to the final, otherwise I will have to vote for all the others.

I cannot imagine prospective contestants can just "add clauses" to a contract provided by the BBC.

20% of the Strictly audience would have heard of him, so nothing to do with that.
I for one didn't know anything about him, never seen the show.

Like I said before, most of the Strictly celebs are Z list and not very well known. All celebs are introduced on each show, at the beginning and just before they dance, so no need to for them to go by their screen name.

Why would I vote for a man who calls himself a Judge. I like humility in people, specially celebrities.

She is unbelievably prejudiced against someone who has the word Judge in their name. She is causing the problem. Why is that hard to understand?
