Her powers of miraculous cancer cures were truly amazing.

I've seen some of the vomit inducing fantasy on the news. Frightening stuff to witness in the 21st century. Lots of men in frocks, big fancy hats and bedecked in their jewellery in the name of........ Christianity??? The ability to cherry pick is obviously a very necessary skill. Bible study, not so much.

"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal." Matthew 6:19-20

Observing the law, not so much either. I wonder how many sexually abusive priests they have now, still allowed to evade the law by their fine leader.
Christ would at the very least be chucking them out of their expensively adorned cash raking temples if he was around.
What the hell is wrong with these people?

Pity she couldn't cure anyone when she was alive. The best medical treatment for herself apparently, everyone else left on the floor to suffer and die.

I was surprised by the posts here but admit to not knowing much about her. I am now wiser and appalled!

My first indication of the real Mother Teresa came from Penn & Teller of all people quite a few years back.

Wow, I never knew this either. Her quote; "There is something beautiful in seeing the poor accept their lot, to suffer it like Christ’s Passion. The world gains much from their suffering," was particularly chilling.

Can't say I'm surprised at this thought process from a nun though. My mum said she knew some when she was a kid and never had anything good to say about them.

Right now there's an interview with someone who's saying fast track canonisation is wrong because Mother Theresa's many failings are still clearly remembered by too many people including her victims? WTF?
The whole concept is wrong and typifies the mindset of the cruel toxic neanderthals.

Hitchens was there first but that article is excellent - thanks.

I see the Vatican and media bandwagon are now in full overdrive for this corrupt, sadistic and hypocritical old bag.

It is absolutely stomach churning that such an evil psychopath can be held in such high regard by so many millions - but that's the Catholic Church for you.

Miracles my arse.

What an appalling world this really is .

She sounds like a psychopath.

Dunno, but l'm uncomfortable too. She devoted herself and her order to looking after ''untouchables'', but some practises were counter productive. Malcolm Muggeridge's bbc documentary ''something beautiful for god'' is probably on youtube .........

According the Vatican you need two miracles that can't be explained by science to become a saint.

What happens to sainthood if later science does explain a miracle?

Par for the course?
I wonder if they're the children of Aids sufferers who this fine example of a typical Pope, the last one, Catholic missionaries and their religion pushers in Africa won't allow to use condoms.
Apparently he reckons there are more important issues in the world. Mmmm........
Pope Francis indicates little concern over condom use in fight against Aids

I suppose it at least makes their latest warped jolly jape of Canonising of a woman like Mother Theresa more understandable.

Bearing in mind that the The Catholic Church is thought to be the wealthiest institution in the world, ably assisted by her, this is just one appalling example.

What Really Goes on at Mother Teresa's Mission in India?

Quote:
“ A young girl holds out her hand -- horribly scarred when a senior nun applied a red hot knife as a punishment for misbehavior. At Mother Teresa's mission in India, allegations of child abuse and neglect are surfacing along with serious questions about the administration of the charity's vast pool of donated money.”

She accepted countless donations from shady characters, her organisation had millions, none of it was spent on providing clean, sanitary environments for the poor, injured or destitute people she claimed to help, she flew 1st class on planes. Nasty vile fraud she is

Ah the pass rate was reduced a while ago when they made John XXIII a saint. He didn't have the two miracles but was made a saint anyway.

Ah but bless her, thanks to her some homeless get to have a night out in Rome

I might be wrong, but didnt the death of Princess Diane wipe things of Culcutters death off the UK news map at the time?

Catholics should be made aware of their Churches history, as to say why nuns and priest our celibate because they were in history forever humping each other and why the Pope has to have a genital check to ensure he is not a women and dont get me started on buying time out of purgatory with cash or the selling of religious icons like thingys left toe to build churches etc. If there is a god he would be ashamed at this lots antics over the years.

I cannot find any joy in her sainthood; she was a nasty old bitch who loved to see people - especially poor people - suffer while pretending to 'help' them.
