Kristina Who has now left Strictly feels that a romance is possible and desirable and could certainly help to take Giovannis mind of his split with his former strictly partner Georgia May Foote.

Certainly I can see the potential and if their both single, attracted to each other and happy to act upon that romantically and erotically -then why not?

If a beautiful sexy pair of single individuals want to sizzle then please sizzle! 😍😘🔥

I think Georgia May is gutted enough without rubbing her nose in it.

I would have thought that Kristina should know better than to be such a stirrer!

Who knows, they may well get it on (though, much as I like Gio, I doubt she'd look twice at him), but I am disappointed in Kristina - who has been subject to such criticism herself. Still, I guess she's got to fill that newspaper column with something, if she wants to stay in the limelight!

No thought for how Georgia feels.

To be fair to Kristina she didn't actually say that looking at the quotes, she sounds supportive of Giovanni and is right he and Laura make a good looking couple on the dancefloor.

Looking at Laura's twitter I see Aliona has voiced her support for Laura and Giovanni this series too which I thought was lovely among all the rubbish being written. Honestly some of the projecting I've read in the papers and even from some fans on social media today.

As a long time fan of Strictly myself I was drawn to Laura's enthusiasm for the show, she seemed so excited to be there and to have potential so fingers crossed for some great dancing from them and that they have fun and lots of banter along the way. I loved the short clip of them after their pairing where she couldn't pronounce Pernice, reckon the show will play up the Italy/Ireland thing quite a bit.

Think it's a shame the papers are taking this angle.

I'm really excited about the partnership because I think she has potential and seems to want to have fun. I highly doubt anything will happen.

Hopefully they will ignore the speculation and still make sure they have a blast like Jay and Aliona. Papers will write what they want, so they may as well do what they like and stuff what the papers say or photograph.

I do think it's hard on Georgia, but I'm sure she's savvy enough to know how these things work. Some of the pap pictures of Jay and Aliona looking "cozy" had her husband just cropped out of shot IIRC so she'll be aware to take it with a pinch of salt.

I didn't really know Laura but she seems nice, and enthusiastic - I hope to see some great routines.

Yes, I saw that from Aliona - sweet

These are Kristina's words.....

Quote:
“"This is very interesting,” she said.

“It will be hard for Giovanni to go into the show with a broken heart, but working with Laura will take his mind off it

“She is a gorgeous woman. They look fantastic together.

“Giovanni will charm her with Italian humour. Who knows what will happen?””

........everything else was supplied by the Mirror

They did twist her words to put together a headline mainly!

But though she didn't say it directly, the implication was there - she was suggesting a potential romance.

The tabloids are trying their best to make as many headlines / rumours from this as possible - but Georgia herself attempted to put a stop to it on Twitter last night - which I thought was very kind.

They are so predictable aren't they - bloody rags. Though I still think she's stirring slightly!

Can't see this pairing working. The press will be watching their every move. I feel sorry for Laura a bit I'm sure she will do her best but I think it will be too awkward for her. The BBC have done her no favours.

Why even suggest it? This is Strictly Come Dancing, not Strictly Come Romancing. If Gio wants to be taken seriously, he best not start a showmance this season too.

Reading between the lines she answered a question in the most anodyne and non committal way possible and it gets jhuzzed up for a headline.

Was she? Or was she talking about the pairing-up and what could happen on the dancefloor? I've no more insight into the answer to that than anyone else of course, but the one thing I can be 100% certain about is that the Mirror is an unreliable witness .

No she didn't suggest anything. Whatever she said is open to interpretation.

Have to disagree there, think Laura's feistier and savvier than to let tabloid rubbish affect her to that degree.

Are you asking Kristina or the Mirror?

Yep, the Mirror certainly is an unreliable witness! And there's no question that they twister her words for effect.

But I would just say that in my opinion with the line... 'Giovanni will charm her with Italian humour. Who knows what will happen?' is implying something.

You're absolutely right. It's completely open to interpretation - I was just pretty much setting out my own interpretation of it.

I guess. If you're looking hard enough

Exactly. The papers are crap. When you look at the way they distort politics to promote opinion rather than provide news, it's clear a tatty cheerful entertainment show has no chance.

I think Laura and Giovanni should ignore expectations, social media, fans and all that palaver. She still needs to learn to dance and there's enough in that fact to keep them occupied. With luck, they'll get on OK for the whole chem thing.
