Currently getting into the music of Squeeze. Many great songs but my favourite is probably Cool For Cats with its catchy Cockney rhyming slang. What do you think?

Let's take a moment to appreciate the innuendo in most of Squeeze's lyrics

Love Up The Junction. Starts off a tale of young love but ends in loneliness and alcohol dependency great lyrics.

Fabulous song. The thing I love about Squeeze songs is that they really tell a story and you get visuals in your head (I do anyway) Labelled With Love is another good example "She unscrews the top of her new whisky bottle, shuffles around in her candlelit hovel"

I think so, she was a singer in the 80's.

I seem to remember Glenn Tilbrook saying that he got a girlfriend and some of her mates in to do the backing vocals on the record. It's possible they were also who starred in the video.

Far too many to name. Be easier to list the bad songs (which are few and far between)
brilliant writers

Labelled With Love is my fave, because it makes you realise that it could happen to any of us.

One of my all-time favourite bands. So many favourite songs but just a few include:

Some Fantastic Place
If It's Love
Last Time Forever
Nirvana
This Summer
Annie Get Your Gun
Up The Junction
I Can't Hold On
Black Coffee In Bed
Hourglass
Loving You Tonight
Another Nail In My Heart
In Quintessence
I Think I'm Go-Go
Love's Crashing Waves (Difford & Tilbrook)
Satisfied
Points Of View
There's No Tomorrow

I've seen them live lots of times, as well as Glenn solo. Brilliant musicians and Glenn & Chris are amongst the greatest songwriters this country has ever produced, imo.

Rock City Nottingham? I bet that was a great gig back in the day! I saw Squeeze at Splendor festival in 2013, liked them then but only recently got back into their music
