My prediction - itll flop miserably and by Christmas, she'll be on TV saying how much she
'loves' the Spice Girls and how she 'really wants' to do a reunion next year. Wasn't it something like 2003/2004 since she last had a successful album??

I think making music is just a hobby of hers now rather than anything to do with sales.
And she does want to do the reunion but only as a 5 piece.
Bloody Victoria !!

I never understand people who snigger at artists they don't like. If Mel wants to release music so what. She has a fan base even if it isn't a big one and they will love this. That's all what matters to her I imagine. I'm sure her Spice Girls millions has her set for life so as someone said music is probably a hobby for her.

I love Melanie's music. I have 5 of her albums and my favourite ones are Reason and The Sea. She's had success all over Europe with her last few albums. It's only here in the UK where people haven't bothered about her much anymore. The Sea really is an excellent album. The only album of hers I didn't buy was her musical theatre one because, although I like her as a pop singer, I personally don't think she has the right voice for musical theatre songs. If her new album is back to pop I'll definitely be getting it.

She changes her mind to suit herself. In 2014 she said in several interviews that they would all be up for doing something as a four piece as Victoria had moved on.

Fast forward to this year and it's now all five or not at all. Conveniently she waited until her new album announcement to spill the beans. Hmmmm

She hasn't. Her last album to do well in Europe was her third Beautiful Intentions as she had a hit there with "First Day of My Life"

All her albums since have flopped miserably everywhere.

That's my problem with Mel C. I remember a few months after the 2007/2008 reunion, she sat on Al Murray's Happy Hour and he said something like 'aw the tour only lasted, what, 2 months??'. and Mel replied '4 months.....FOUR. MONTHS! then she basically said how 'hell' it was and how relieved she was when it ended. I also remember how she constantly kept saying how much of a sacrifice she was making for the reunion because she couldn't promote her album This Time.

She changes her mind on everything Spice Girls related though. She openly went on about how crap Headlines was then in a Q&A a few years ago said she actually likes the song

Anymore is awesome. If radio stations played it I suspect it would actually chart.

She can never beat Northern Star which was her creative peak. I'm still surprised she recorded a song of such quality as Never Be The Same Again.

I really like it. It's much better than Numb. It needs some good remixes and she could promote it to clubs and dj's. where it's much easier to get your song played than on mainstream radio.

Actually, a song from her fourth album This Time called the Moment You Believe was a #1 hit in some European countries and Top 20 in most of Europe. This Time did quite well in Europe, even though personally it's my least favourite album by her as it's very ballad driven.

European success has been good to her and she has had a few European number 1's.

She has been doing a promo tour of radio and tv, and performing Anymore live acoustically.

She has mentioned that her influences for this album are trip hop artists like Massive Attack and Portishead and also more current artists like the Weekend and Sia, which sounds great!

Speaking of Sia, she has just covered 'Cheap Thrills': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Wp8zCxAFMI
