Aw, that's nice. He's my early favourite and now I like him a little bit more
.I hope the promise we saw on the launch show translates into more than a bit of jigging about. It'll be great to see what Jo can do with a (possible) contender .![]() I'm really liking most of everyone right now, a lot of good dancing and nice peeps. I really loved Jo on ITT last year and loving her and Ore quite a bit. Yummy dance tonight and seeing Ore so moved was...well, moving.

Clartster!
![]() After last year, with so much sturm und drang around and about, I'm going to try to go with the flow and enjoy it all as much as I can. I suppose 9s might fine at this point because so many of the dances are really good already. It's going to be a close year, me thinks. ![]() I haven't a clue if I'll end up rooting for one couple or - as of now - root for most of them. I'm really liking the new pros. Have Brenda and Pasta lost weight? A bit more competition sharpening them up perhaps.

Ore and Jo were my favourites tonight - delightful!
Just seen that not only are there some of my lovely fellow posters from the team GG thread here but my dear old friends Noone, Clartem and Fridgesoup from the heady days of Kartem!! Hello you lovely lot, it's been a while! I don't have an overall favourite yet (maybe Will and Daisy?) but Ore and Jo were by far my favourites tonight |

Hi Nooney! It's been ages! Yes, I'm very happy not to have a favourite this year! Though that may change! X

You've got friends over here!! Can I be introduced!! ![]() Loving Ore & Jo tonight, great routine, one of the best of the series so far!! It's insane how good everyone is so early in the season this year!! Loved how overwhelmed Ore was by the whole occasion too!! |

NDD - ha ha!! Yes, I did have other friends on here before you reprobates! We had such laughs on the Kara and Artem threads back in the day!! I was on maternity leave at the time so was even more of a time waster than I am now! (though that may be hard to believe!). I can vouch for NDD - he's a good 'un and a frequent voice of reason!
Anyway, back on topic - I'm so pleased for Ore and Jo as I thought they were getting lost in the mix but they were fab tonight. I hope they build on it next week. I'm quite enjoying not having a particular favourite though, I must say! |

Waving to the other kartemites posting here.
![]() I loved Ore & Jo's 'Singing in the Rain' routine. So many references to the Gene Kelly classic. Don't have a favourite couple yet but these two got one of my votes last night. |

Sorry, completely off topic - but to the kartem fans posting - watching Laura and Gio's moulin rouge routine - I smiled as I remembered back to when K&A did a moulin rouge tango and how it was about 6 months before someone (me!) noticed that there was a bloody great windmill in the background!
Oh how we laughed! (hi to crazy4kartem too!) (This was back in the days before props were quite such a big deal!)Bringing the thread back on topic - here's Ore and Jo's reaction https://www.instagram.com/p/BLUB4O-A...strictly&hl=en |

Wickster! I wonder if we can start a thread for those who want to appreciate a few couples rather than just one. Lovely to see so many pals here.
I might have to follow ex Kartemites around the threads, if we can't find a 'home'. ![]() Nooney!! *more air kisses!! Fancy seeing you here Yes- I too am being an appreciation tart, not having yet settled on just the one -thank goodness, it's exhausting and not a little unharrowing having just one fave- but I started Strictly this year hoping Ore would do well, and I'm thrilled by how well SITR went, despite needing to see it a second time before I really loved it. As I said on another thread, I was transfixed by Ore catching the flipped umbrella on the exact final beat of the music, after being trepidatious about him dropping it as he had done in rehearsals. And the email from Gene Kelly's wife must have left Jo on cloud 9 for the last 2 days <3 |

Here's Jo's Instagram showing what Gene Kelly's widow was quoted as saying. That must have made their year. I just love Gene Kelly.

That last beat, umbrella catch was the perfect finish to a classy dance alrighty.I'm loving Danny and Oti, Claudia and AJ and, much to my surprise, I think Greg is a dark horsey and might really grow into the whole thing. Having said all of that I like most of the others and so I'm ready to be an appreciation tart for a while yet. ![]() Quote:

Just popping in to wave at old buddies 😘😘😘
I went off Ore and Jo a bit with the tango (soooooo much faffing) and didn't love the fireman Sam cha cha, but adored, adored everything in the SITR smooth. Joy of joys! Like many of you, am up for a stress free Strictly and liking most of the couples. AJ and Caudia were fabulous, Danny's great, but 'tis Oti I loves 💕 and I'm enjoying Ed and the awesome Katya. Sorry to lose Gorka. Even Anton isn't doing my head in

I'm catching up with ITT - holiday and vile cough got in the way. Off topic, but
I have to add how much I love Joe Varney and Laura and Aljaz and Daisy. So funny. I understand Laura is getting hate from the Joe Varney fanbase, shame...☹️ |

They were my faves on Saturday, having not really stood out before. I also like Daisy and Aljaz (and - side note - loved evil Aljaz in the fab pro dance with Gio and Jo) and also liked Will

I like that idea nooney. Last year I only really engaged with jaliona but nearly drowned in the enthousiasm of their thread and if I had nobody would have noticed. ( fridgy excepted).

That doesn't mean that everyone on the GG thread is automatically voting for them though. I mean, I was a huge Kara and Artem fan, as you know, but that doesn't mean I'd automatically vote for Artem and Holly, Fern or Natalie. Neither of those pairings were my faves in their particular years. I'm fairly ambivalent towards Laura - she seems nice and them seem to have a good partnership but isn't she isn't one of my faves - though I really liked their waltz. Anyway, I don't want to drag anyone here into this discussion (that seems to go round in circles elsewhere!) but just wanted to respond to what you said.
I'm liking Laura and Gio quite a bit but I feel in my bones that I'm getting drawn to Danny, Ore and Greg a bit more...hmm, it's such a great year I might not have decided until the final. Quote:

Fantastic!! What a dancer Ore is and Jo is just brilliant. Thrilled to see her getting the credit she deserves.
