I wouldn't read too much into it, dippy. Very few ATs actually see much traffic during the series. Jay's and Georgia's took off last year, but nobody else's really did that I can recall. I don't think anyone this year has captured any level of cultish following yet (so Ore's not doing any worse), but it's quite early days.
I thought the jive was excellent, but will confess the detail of it hasn't stayed with me - just the notion of lots of energy, skill and hard work, but I have no images from it lingering in my head. I don't think the judges have done Ore any good with their reactions last night and it seems to be being taken out on Jo and Ore around the forum, which is a shame. The two details from the jive that stayed with me until I watched it again on YT were the rapid multiple flicks that Ore did -a tad raggedy, but mega energetic- and the Egyptian sand dance move which just always makes me smile wherever I see it. And I'm hoping that the OTT judge reactions are only causing a backlash on DS and not with the wider public. Although I haven't looked on twitter- tends to irritate me no matter what's being discussed there, so I'll probably continue doing so

Oh- and cards on the table: I already thought well of Ore and then found out the following- a friend of mine works at Media City in Manchester and he often works with Ore and says Ore is a really nice guy who is very popular with everyone, both in front of the camera and behind, which he says is rare. So that’s good enough for me to ignore the unpleasant deductions some FMs have made about him- people see what they want to see and no one ever came onto a forum to have their mind changed.

![]() I like Ore he comes over as popular with his fellow sports reporters and sports people and enjoyed his coverage of the Olympics I have a former pupil and relative who are in Holyoaks and they told me before show that Dan can come over a bit smug and full of himself but that is not so he is a nice guy - I must be shallow cos I still think he is a bit smug

Just wanted to say how much I looovvvveed Ore and Jo's Jive last night, great chemistry, bang on the content and a thing of total joy that made me.
![]() ![]() a whole lot.Following on last week they are rapidly becoming my fave couple, in a year packed with some good couples. I really like Jo on ITT last year standing for Karen Hardy and enjoyed Ore's articulate commentary on the Olympics so that makes that I love their dancing even better. Not suprised the main forum has managed to kick off already, and James Jordan, I'm never suprised by the bitter little twitter tirades he comes out with - professional trolling perhaps ? (in absence of the 'roll-eyes', not really sure what this faceless little beige thing means, perhaps it represents James Jordan ?) And waving a big hello to Soupy, Noonester, Clarty and Wicks ![]() ![]() funny you should turn up today as I repeated the snipe in my meadow line to my OH tonight when a little group flew past. I also remembered your tale of an early morning in Liverpool somewhere Toxteth? On subject, I loved the jive last night, the energy and fun were brilliant. |

Hello Nina!
I'm really glad for Jo too that they've done so well this week. After being sidelined last year and then being criticised for her choreography for the first 2 weeks, it's great that it's gone well for her |

just catching up on the results show...It was luvverly to see the support and the sharing of joy between Ore, Laura, Gio and Jo in Saturday's Clauditorium and on the results show. Bizarre contrast between the friendliness on the show and the tit for tat on the main forum
![]() PS I feel a little like I'm breaking into a private club on this thread but I'm too thick-skinned to care properly

Dervla - I agree - and Danny seemed genuinely thrilled for him when the dance finished too - he was jumping up and down!

The original one they had was fab: Oreo! But seems to have fallen foul of the Blue Peter 'sticky-back plastic' (Sellotape) rule. Jura (a rather lovely whisky) also gets wiped out by the no advertising thingy. They could have trampled all over Judge Rinder with Juror. Did they ever even consider Orjy, I wonder. Or Ordure? But Ojo it is!

From the training shown on Friday's ITT, I really hope Jo's sorted out Ore's top line- he seemed to be leaning over Jo, or was maybe too upright, rather than leaning back a bit more. "Flower in a vase" and all that. (TM Ian Waite

)Btw: forced to chooooose... Do people prefer their 'Runaway' Jive or the 'Singing in the Rain' AS? For me it's the AS. Just. It's the relaxed moments and the character of the dance. I love it when choreography finds room and confidence for a man to rush round shaking water off his umbrella in such a way that it adds to the character of the dance. It was a beyootiful routine. |

The Waltz was Ore's first emotionally exposed dance in a way.
His tango had a bicycle. His cha cha had braces and a pole. His AS had the suave and beyootiful splashy stuff. His Jive had a million miles an hour and muscle burn... Admittedly there were moments of stillness in the AS but so supported by the character of the dance that they had a kind of nonchalence. But the waltz was slow, delicate, mirroring... This is a guy who cries-and-doesn't-want-to-cry, who hides his emotions so well in ordinary conversation that half the forum thinks he's brash. So this was a tough dance for him and his nerves were more apparent this week. I want to break the cameraman's legs by the way. We lost the sense of how they travelled over the floor with all that swirling we were forced to do. Much better to have seen what Darcey and Len saw -- the still moments given energy by Ore's purpose. I think the studio audience probably got a better view of Jo's choreography than we did. The close focus didn't matter so much with the jive because the shapes are body-sized (if that makes sense) whereas with Jo's choreography for the waltz the shapes were the size of the floor. It's a broader canvas and we missed much of that through the camera-work |

I feel for Ore and I think he's in a very difficult position. He can't win if he cries (too emotional, fake, wimpy), he's arrogant if he tries to mask it. I see him as a bit insecure and tries to mask it by going into 'presenter mode' and even then it's very inoffensive. I feel the jive has both given him a support but also created a large 'spite' vote for him as well. Shame really.
I can't help thinking the marking he is getting is going to cause even more resentment as well. I would have had him down as a 7 or 8 last night but then again I always think everyone is overmarked I thought Joanne pushed him with the waltz content, trying to get him to drive through the floor and use it all, and he did do well for the most part leading the dance. He just looked very scared he was going to mess it up and then his shoulders went and he had a dodgy head moment as well. I hope he can sort his ballroom frame out asap as he looks very good in places.I think he will get to Blackpool but it will be 'a struggle' if you will for him to get to the final. I put a vote in for him and Claudia last night. |

Good point ![]() As for Ore himself- he reminds me very much of a male friend of mine who is quite gushy, always optimistic, confident and pretty full-on; back in our uni days, other people who didn't know him so well found him insincere, arrogant etc -all the criticisms made about Ore on the MF- but 30 years on and he's still the same upbeat guy with a lovely family, lots of friends and doing loads to help in his local community, while the same can't be said for all of his critics. Ore also reminds me of Tom Chambers- who drew all the same comments back then too. |

I put a vote in for him and Claudia last night. Someone on the MF asked "Why does he do it?" which I thought was an odd question to ask about an instinctive response. It'd be like asking "Why do you blush?" or "Why are you nervous?" You have very little control over an in-built part of your make-up; you just do. And it's then magnified x100 by the producers and presenters who -trust me- will not let this one go, even if he never gets so much as a glistening eye for the rest of the comp. (He will though... )And I agree about Ore's demeanour in the dance- to me he looked very nervous. I too was expecting maybe 7,9,8,8 for that dance (ie, low 30s), but as Dervla said- maybe the camera work obscure how much good movement they were making across the floor. |

Dear G
d! I hope no one pleads favouritism for Jo and Ore tonight. Have you seen their costumes and make up? Everyone else looks chilling, dark, vampiric and palely interesting. Jo and Ore look like a pumpkin shat them ![]() ![]() What with the music too... Jo may as well add in a pushbike

That stops nobody let me tell you. Worried for Ore tonight. Maybe it's my perception of how he is viewed 'on here' but I think he could be a 'shock' bottom two tonight. It certainly wasn't as bad as I've seen some say for people to be angry at him being overmarked. In hindsight of the night I think he's been marked accordingly...

I've voted a few times with my phone for the first time this year as well as free online. I expected to be worried about my other favourites but it's lovely Ore I'm scared for tonight. Poor Jo and Ore. Dressed like that, with that music, it was almost laughably impossible to be impressive. ![]() At least it was only the Charleston and not one of the dances I'd care more about. Just hoping they're still in the competition next week

It's almost fashionable to pick on the guy on this forum. Is it the last-year Jay jive thing the judges set going the other week? It seemed to make a lot of the recognisable Jay (and now Dan) fans suddenly take against him. People rationalise their reasons but the truth is usually something more basic.

Shallow, but there we are. I could see it was a dance packed with content and danced well (James Jordan loved it!) but the overall aesthetic put me off quite a lot. And I loved that song as a teenager first time around! Fingers Xed their popularity so far will keep them safe. |
