These Clifton threads - pro and anti - are becoming seriously repetitive. Can we stop now, please? Pretty please?

i really can't take to these 3, nor do i know which one i dislike most.

Kevin...overdoes everything from his dancing to his way over the top celebration on learning this years partner.

Joanne.....loves the Camera, loves herself.

Karen...just don't like her and i'm not even sure why.
OK we get the picture; DS posters don't like the Cliftons.

It's been said over and over and over and ..........

PLEASE could we now draw a line under it, and move on; to keep repeating it has just become silly.

I am neutral towards Kevin and Jo, but not a fan of Karen. IMO, Karen comes across very fake and attention seeking.

What's interesting in your reply Sarah, and quite a few others on the forum, is that TheCliftons are s.e.p.a.r.a.t.e people with s.e.p.a.r.a.t.e personalities. I think it's important to emphasis this and sorry to pick on your post to do so but it seemed a good example. It's when they grouped as though the same entity that something is amiss. It would be healthier for everyone to discuss Kevin (a latin dancer), Jo (a ballroom dancer) and Karen Hauer separately. They may be brother/sister, husband/wife but their dancing styles and personalities are d.i.f.f.e.r.e.n.t.

Were you never taught that if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all? I find it a saddening indictment of humanity that some people appear to have nothing better to do than spout vitriol about people they don't even know...especially when it's been done about 100 times already so they're not even being in any way original...

If you want to hear good things about celebs, then stick to the appreciation thread.
This is the MF and people are allowed to discuss their views. If all of us agreed on everything it will be a sad place to visit. Strcitly is an entertainment show and the viewers have the right to complain about the pros they don't like.

Thank you, some common sense ! it always astounds me the people who bother to tell you what you should think or how your allowed to express it, when it's really quite easy to ignore a thread.

There's a difference between constructive comments and debate and one-sided, out-and-out bile. One has a place on a public forum, the other does not.

It's not hard to do a search for a thread, or at the very least read the first page, where there were already several threads about the Cliftons. If the topic hadn't been discussed in months, that's different, but when it's on the front page then there's really excuse for not replying in the pre-existing thread.

I like to choose which threads I reply to.
I'm sure many others do as well.
And the search function on here has been temperamental for over a year now.

I think Kevin has been unfairly favoured.
He has been given contenders each time and seems to have been pushed to the front of things. He should have been given lesley Joseph this year and Anton should have been given Tameka.
And just like I dislike being told which thread I should post in, I dislike being told which Pro dancer is marvellous.
I find him over the top in his behaviour in the Clauditorium, and I find his dancing OTT as well.
Joanne - I find to be very childlike in her behaviour. Little girl voice and all that is very annoying.
However when she was on ITT I saw a different side to her.

The point is I feel that "The Cliftons" are being rammed down our throats as being collectively wonderful, and I hate being told what to like.
I want to make up my own mind.

I don't need James Jordan to help me do it either.
Kevin needs to tone down a bit and maybe he won't annoy so many people.
It's like having a hyperactive toddler going off on one all the time, and I just think, 'for goodness sake, quieten down a bit.'

All I can say to that is Judy Murray would only sign up for Strictly if she was guaranteed to be partnered with Anton.
We have no idea what agreements have been made and perhaps Lesley had the same stipulation.

Louise, in one of her interview clips says that she is friends with Frankie Bridge - you never know she might have asked specifically for Kevin.

That is quite feasible.

Who are these people who can dictate what 'should' be happening anyway?

I loved Kevin and Frankie's Argentine Tango but I did think that Frankie was a smidge too tall for Kevin. He always seems to be quite a "kind" partner to me and I am sure that is a much appreciated quality for all the celebs

Kevin's partners are the only ones who can know what he is like and they have, without exception, been very complimentary.

I'm turning into a Clifton Cheerleader and that is purely down to the relentless criticism that nice talented people get around here.

I wouldn't have minded Lesley with Kevin at all for several reasons - and I think she would have been thrilled - but the real issue is 'What do you do with Anton?'. I'm not saying this to bash Anton, but I do think it's a real problem for the show unless there are two or three obvious duffers amongst the ladies.

The ones most often offered up as the sacrificial lambs ( just to ensure Kevin gets Lesley ) are Tameka, Naga and Louise. Surely they deserve a better opportunity?

I'm the same. If people hark on and on and on and on about how GHASTLY someone is I usually end up liking them or if they bang on about how WONDERFUL someone is then I end up finding them intensely irritating. Mentioning no names but there was someone here last season who perpetually asked people to go and post on the G&G appreciation thread even though they weren't appreciators He was utterly insistent that he could turn people into fans just by a process of nagging

Yes, me too.

I remember him - the guy to which you refer. He posted in various threads asking people to vote for them too. Pi$$ed a lot of people off too, as I recall.

I suppose it either depends on how desperate the Booking Elves are to secure them, or whether they see it as a big deal anyway

To me, Louise seems the sort of celeb who would have been paired with Robin Windsor, if he was still on hand holding and confidence boosting duty.
