X Factor - Boys
The boys category seems to be really good this year!
I think they may be on the lookout for a Shawn Mendes/Bieber type of guy as that's the current market. Which would be nice for a change, Matt was gorgeous and a lovely guy too. Not even a bad singer. Oh and I cannot stand Yes Lad...that boyband. The name is awful, they're like five One Direction wannabes who sit in Nando's every Saturday. I've yet to see a decent band...but I'd love a new One Direction! Just not these idiots. |

Huge lack of groups this year, and i think this upcoming weekend is the last of auditions.

James has a strong pop voice with a side of theatre and soul in equal measure, and with the right song could be amazing.
Freddie is like a modern Mel Torme (listen to his tone...omg that TONE!) with amazing artistry and subtlety for someone so young. Niall has a nice tone with a purity to it Connor has a good voice, and delivered his audition song well.I am interested to hear him again and see if there is more there. Matt could really be standout if he connects with a song that shows off the best pf his vocals and has fun with it. He is definitely marketable. Chris has a vulnerability to his tone and I hear an interesting vocal in there, though I do think he'd do well to stop listening to the Ed Sheran in his head and trust his own ability and unique style. Nate, who has not been shown yet, has the best voice of any unsigned singer I have ever heard,on or off the show,(with possible exception on Leona, who is also incredible) with a range that can span 3 octaves and change unstrained.*Not a spoiler, I know this because I have watched him work his butt off at his craft and heard him sing his music loving heart out many times . I think the boys are going to give us some memorable performances ,and IMOon several of them having a good chance at semifinals. Some of the girls are great, as well, but that is for another thread. |

Doubtful that this is the last week of auditions, far too many unshown yet Most of the groups yet to be shown Most of the overs yet to be show Half the girls yet to be shown Possible, but unlikely they will try and cram them in 1 weekend |

Make a note of all these young boys and girls who are getting through to boot camp.
It's only a matter of time before we see a boyband or girlband being created to make up the numbers. The groups category is usually the weakest, even with the overs category. |

So far I am liking Freddie and Niall.
Niall has huge potential if he chooses the right songs. This is going to be key with him. He is very raw. With the right mentorship and guidance he can go far. Freddy has star quality in abundance. I predict he will go far. In terms of uniqueness these are the two that stand out to me. The rest I feel I have heard all before. |

I'm rooting for Freddie also. I'm all about uniqueness and rawness. Im sick of the screeching and high pitched singers |

I'd rather them go for a talented boy singer than go for the tween market with a Shawn Mendes/Justin Bieber wannabe that can't sing.

I'm hoping if they're not successful it would be tres easy to make a boyband out of the boys that don't get through - which is a recipe for success!
I didn't realise but I can actually see it happening |
