So entertaining and what a surprise. Looks a great partnership and Oksana is a super addition. Really looking forward to see how he handles ballroom next week.

Even better than expected! He embraces both the dancing and the cheese. He'll only get better. All praise to Oksana: she knows exactly what she has with Rinder and set him off perfectly.

I understand Craig expects cat fights with Rinder, they don't seem to have been exactly friends.
He's a strange combination really. Intelligent and serious when required (IRL), dry, witty and sarcastic and yet with a huge dose of unselfconscious ridiculous. He'll run rings around Craig lol

I can't wait to see him with Claude on ITT

I'm quite happy that nobody beat Judgey in the entertainment factor but I'm thinking his position in the leader board is ridiculous

Agree - I seem to agree with much of what you post

Having seen the second offerings I think Robert is amazing. He's not the best technically and may never reach as high a standard as some but, whoah, he has so much to offer and I think Oksana will, most beautifully, try and elicit it from him.

Roll on next week.

(Not to forget the wonderful voodoo quickstep... But enough of Patrick!)

Yeah, Robert had a serious (...ish) face for the judges and there was that revealing comment from Oksana about him overthinking his hips that points to a different side. It'll be interesting to see how they respond to the characters of the other dances. This Cha Cha was so perfectly champagne-corky. It remains to be seen if they can bring the equally right mood for tango, waltz etc.
How could I?! And his wonderful jive in week one.

Anyway, Corbyn trounced his rival. Surprise, surprise. I hope Chuka Umunna leaves Labour now.

On the matter of Robert: Roll on next week. He's amaze-balls!

Most of the scoring was ridiculous tonight and the Friday night crew were all let down.

On the plus side the viewers hate what they see as overmarking/undermarking so the Judge should be fine in the public vote.

I know, the worst thing I'd want if I was on the show, would be to get overly praised and get top marks from the judges. Instantly disliked by the public! And the same goes for being undermarked, that can be the makings of someones popularity

I managed to catch the end of Robert's GMB interview with Piers and Susanna this morning. He was very complimentary about Greg, saying he lights up the room and is an unsung hero (or words to that effect) and he put Piers in his place a couple of times. He was also quite dismissive about the amount of hard work training is, just saying that you have to put in the hours.

He came across as modest, intelligent and sharp - a lovely man.

Did anyone catch the start of the interview?

I only caught the end too. I liked when he suggested to Piers in full on sarcastic mode "You could do Strictly next year, Piers". His face

Thanks sunshineband. I'd love to see him have a proper heated discussion with Piers. I can imagine he's capable of running rings around someone like him.

You're welcome bobble. Yes, there was a bit in the interview where Robert was talking about Susanna Reid (apparently they know one another quite well) and Robert described her as highly motivated. Piers immediately changed that to something like fiercely ambitious, and Robert stopped him in his tracks and pointed out that was definitely NOT what he had said.

I reckon Robert would definitely win a verbal debate with Piers!

Sorry for the double post. I've just found this rather funny clip on Twitter from earlier today of Robert answering the GMB team's dilemmas:

Thought it might get some appreciation here

Me again

Thought I'd post everything else I've found in one go here to try and preserve a little forum etiquette. Hope no one minds me curating this stuff.

Oksana's posted a pic of their first day of rehearsal for Week 2's dance. Impossible to tell which dance it is though I think? https://www.instagram.com/p/BK1IHU6DIrh/

More of the interview from GMB this morning on the GMB Youtube channel: https://youtu.be/qV2pf5lojnw

And the agony uncle questions from GMB on their Youtube channel as well:

Thanks for the posts with all the links. I've caught up with most. Like Robert being so pragmatic about the 'hard work' of Strictly. He seems quite grounded. Really like him and that instagram snap from Oksana looks like waltz/VW or foxtrot to me.

Yes, thank you from me too. No need to apologise for posting clips/photos/news about him on his appreciation thread. People don't come here unless they like him so nobody is going to mind how much you post. More is good

I thought waltz Maggie. I really hope he can master the ballroom. I can't see him having a problem with any of the latin dances (except perhaps rumba, but then most of the male rumba are cringefests, even with the pros) but if he can nail the ballroom too he has a real shot of going all the way in the competition.

Phew, thanks VicsMum, Maggie and bobbla, glad the Rinderfinding is all good here.

I hope he can nail ballroom as well. He certainly seems prepared to put the hours in to learn the steps and the feel of the dance going by last week. He doesn't mind hard work does he?

Love this picture from the JudgeRinder Instagram posted last night :

And this is an old interview but the JudgeRinderTV Twitter account has just retweeted it so might be worth a read::

I like how Oksana is tweeting and active on social media. She retweeted this tweet featuring Karen Hardy's opinions on ITT last night:

Hello bobbla and sunshineband. I too hope he can dance an emotional dance. I'm sure he will work to master steps and hold. If he can pull off a decent waltz, if that's what it is, then I think he will go quite far in the competition. As to rumba: I think he will give it a go and without the self consciousness of most male pros, given his cha cha cha! He seems to have a good relationship with Oksana and like her a lot so I think this rapport will be there in a rumba.

Just posted after you sunshineband! Love that snippet from Karen and she's right; get him into a hold and let's see his commitment, which I believe is dedicated.

Btw, on a side note, I dislike the comparison of Oksana to Ola. Yes can see there's a physical likeness but otherwise she seems quite different to me and as I like Oksana but not Ola anymore, it makes me cringe when Oksana is described as Ola mark 2.
