What about us being "Rinderellas"?That has a nice ring to it!

[quote=StrictlyRed;84117218]Here is another interview, this time from Good Morning Britain, which was posted over on the Jay and Aliona thread. Some very interesting bits about cases he was involved with in his day job as a barrister, if you can bear watching Piers Morgan doing the interview.

I like him (one of my 6 favourites this year), and I would say the feeling about him over there is generally positive, particularly re. his quick wit and the way he looks as though he's having a blast! I also love that there is a completely different side to him with his "proper job" - so intelligent.”

Hey, it's the thought that is welcome. Thanks for the nice words and please return at any time for tea, biscuits and Rinder

Liking Rinderellas more than Rinderites. But is it politely brutal enough?

I think on Strictly, Robert's much more of a softie - although he does reserve some of his polite brutality for CRH!

The Flintstones Charleston looks like it's coming on well in training

There'll be more tricks...and most probably more facial expressions!!!

Is Rinderellas as inclusive as Rinderites? You know, these says we have to be gender neutral, gender inclusive, politically correct, etc.

I am looking forward to seeing how this dance works in costume and to the music -the training clip really doesn't give much of an idea.

What did everyone think of the Flintstones Charleston?

I loved the energy, the cheeky bongo drums and tricks in the choreography, plus a front handspring at the end - wow! All in all I think it was a pretty good attempt at the theme they'd been given, which lets face it, wasn't the best ever.

It was a bit underwhelming and definitely hindered by the theme.

If they survive "tonight," hopefully the producers will be kinder to them next week. It seemed that for movie week, one couple got a straight, dance-appropriate song and theme, while the other couple doing the same dance style got stuck with something less appropriate. (Rinder/Oksana vs Claudia/AJ's perfect Charleston theme; Laura/Gio's salsa music vs Will/Karen's "salsa;" Ore/Joanne's most American smoothiest imaginable American smooth theme vs Greg/Natalie's Robin Hood.)

That's very true. I really hope they get something better to dance to as well. Their first week music was great and then these last two weeks, they've drawn the short straw. How far is the music decided in advance I wonder? Is it too late to mix things up and give Robert and Oksana a serious, authentic theme and music for a week?

These two need a good week next week. Rob looked a bit surprised not to be in the B2, IMO, think he was very disappointed with his performance. Hope they get a better music choice this week after two duds.

loving Robert (I refuse to call him Judge!) and Oksana

they are so good and quirky together

I had no idea who Robert was before Strictly and I am always a little skeptical about new pros - mainly because I know nothing about them but Oksana is a delight and Robert is just

Hiya!

Well, I didn't like it, but that's because there was no way they would do well with the naff song and all the props. I can't think of a more inappropriate theme tune than the Flintstones to choreograph a dance routine, utterly ridiculous choice. I am hoping they come stronger this Saturday, looking forward to know what are going to dance and the song choice too.

I never enjoy a dance as much when you can't recognise the dancer through the costume or make-up. Even giving Laura red hair, for example, made a difference to me on Saturday. Rob was too different from himself as Fred Flintstone. This might not just be a recognition thing for the audience though. It must be hard for some characters to stay grounded and in the moment when props and appearances are too wild. For others (Ed's green face) maybe the divorce from reality helps...

For me, there was less joy in their Charleston because you couldn't quite see him doing it. It could have been anyone.

His best dance for me is still that first one -- amazing!

The Oksana Team on Facebook posted a link to Robert on Scott Mills show yesterday

https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=...&v=Os2eZJauqUw

Apparently he did drop Oksana in rehearsals and so they had to change the Charleston a bit. Their dance next week is quite funny and has a rural theme.

Bum bongos are also discussed A LOT!

Yes it does - I'd love to see them do a dramatic, moody tango or a light, romantic waltz / VW with some decent music.

Robert and Oksana have a VW to "Boom Bang-a-bang".

Not quite the light, romantic theme then?!

I'd like to see a more serious side to his dances too.

And in his interviews I'd like him to move away from his caricature, and just be his real self. From what I've seen of him and how he is with the other celebs and heard some anecdotal stories about how hes been with them behind the scenes, he seems a really kind and supportive fella. He may just be too used to 'getting into character' thinking thats what we want to see, but I'd like to see more of his real self off the dance floor (at least in the interviews) and keep the jokes for Craig
