Really don't get the love for Methadone Mick. Sub standard replacement for Pete.

Can you give examples? I can't think of any time

Agree with this. Love MM. Isa is probably the best character though .
This week's episode was the poorest of the series so far, but still very enjoyable.

Personal favourite is Navid, He is a brilliant character considering the restraints of being stuck in the shop for 99% of his scenes

Penultimate episode tonight!

Hope the animal / Bake Off subplots don't turn out cringe-worthy (especially the former!)

Plus we get another original series returnee in

Very hard to say this as someone whose enjoyed this particular series but that was probably the weakest episode of Still Game for me so far

Might enjoy it more when I rewatch it but I guess I just didn't laugh with this episode as much as I usually do.

The animal subplots were pretty much what I expected though I did enjoy Isa's feud with Peggy and Boabby's reaction to eating the cake!

Loved the Lorraine Kelly comment though, I'm sure she'll have a giggle about that on Twitter

The special effects last night were really silly for 2016.

I agree, they were crap considering the skills they have nowadays.

Yeah the effects were probably one of the reasons why I didn't enjoy it so much. Plus I'm a wimp when it comes to spiders

Thought that was the funniest of this series so far and the first time it's felt like proper Still Game.

When Winston is talking about Peggy's cakes in Navid's shop; "Magic they are. It's like biting into Lorraine Kelly's arse"

Well I for one am glad the show is back, even if in my opinion episodes 3,4 & 5 (can't comment on the last episode as its not aired yet) have been poor for Still Game (ie Series 5 & 6 level good, as opposed from the first 4 series which were classic).

Also your comments about Mick, well count me as another one of the 'don't like this character' brigade. To me (and again this is just my opinion) the character doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the Still Game universe.

Usually when I am watching I can get drawn into all the characters and their storylines, whilst still having a laugh. However with Mick, to me he is just a parody character made up of 80% stereotypical Glasgow Junkie Ned mixed in with 20% Dwayne Dibley (the hair and the teeth). So because to me Mick is a parody character it takes me out of the story.

The best way to describe it is that when I see Jack & Victor I see Jack & Victor, not Ford & Greg playing Jack & Victor - with Mick I see an comedic actor playing a parody character for cheap laughs.

So a side note, I found this on Youtube yesterday and I'm just wondering if anyone has seen it? Its one of the 'Think F.A.S.T on strokes' PIFs but stars Gavin Mitchell (aka Boabby) as 'The Barman', as well as Sanjeev Kohli (aka Navid) & Jane McCarry (Isa), playing 'mates sitting at the table'.
