I'm relieved that more people enjoyed the latest episode though I really hope my opinion of it improves with a second viewing

Bizarre when I've loved every episode of Still Game beforehand!

Hmm seems to have a mixed response. I thought it was ok, but not one of the better episodes. Was good to see Peggy again though!

I think episode 2 is the closest we got to vintage Still Game.

I rewatched it again and laughed just as much!! I haven't done that with any of the others. Maybe it's partly coz I'm a dog lover

Mick just nails that voice, I loved his little speech about the crickets.

I honestly think she'll pop up in the last episode.

Given that we've seen Chris the Postie, Stevie, Frances, Shug, Fergie, Sinead and Peggy pop up, Ford and Greg will probably save their best original side character (the hostess with the mostess!) for this one.

The theme tune is called 'Cuban Boy', composed around 1960 by a once famous orchestra leader, Frank Chacksfield. It was played constantly on radio fifty years ago. Good to hear it again - but prefer it without the thumping bass drum which is probably the BBC's idea of 'modernisation'.

Actually I met the composer on a number of occasions. He published (and recorded) a composition of mine.
The bass drum "thumping" was in the previous version of the theme tune too.

I rewatched last week's and definitely enjoyed it more this time around

Gutted it's the finale tonight though. Got tickets to see the live show in February so that'll be something to look forward to!

Hope you got good seats. I didn't bother getting tickets this year due to the crap seats we were allocated at the first run. Couldn't see 80% of the stage or the main video screen which was really annoying. Especially after forking out so much for that crap venue.

I hope we've got good seats given the prices (£85 each) plus me and my dad are traveling there from Wirral.

Either way, I'm hoping it'll be a fun experience regardless

That was great. Really enjoyed it. Ronni Ancona was great as the 'Ms Ratchet faced bastard'! Loved Jack & Victor asking each other what they thought Tam & Winston were up to. 'Probably drinkin oor pish'!

Yes - but not in the original version published in the sixties! I had the honour of playing the tune to the composer (Frank Chacksfield) in 1968 !

Sorry to misinform you a01020304, I had read somewhere that Maureen Carr had filmed an appearance but obviously not the case. I genuinely thought she would pop up in the care home (especially with it being a Cuckoo's Nest theme)

Aside from that, I agree with Malcy86, it was a great episode with excellent writing plus it was nice to see the likes of Shug, Peggy and Mick all appear

The Cuckoo's Nest subplot was spot on plus Ronnie Ancora did a top job!

I know a few people have been underwhelmed by Still Game's return but I've loved it!

Gutted that it's over but surely it'll be back for another series!

I wouldn't say I've been underwhelmed. It's been a bit of a mixed series but overall it was worth bringing back.

I know some people don't think it was as good as earlier series etc. Personally i really enjoyed it and even the poorest episode of this series is better than 90% of stuff on tv these days that passes for comedy. So in my opinion this series was a great success
