How are ay of you still watching?? I had the misfortune of watching part of the 2nd ep, and its just absolute rubbish. Complete nonsense. Are any of the Corrie team actually trying?

Suddenly Leanne and Michelle are best buddies. As if. I could seriously scream. How has Corrie fallen so far to become such absolute tripe? The writing is terrible, the storylines are terrible.

Sean Michelle

Everything is so predictable. Nick wanting to get back with Leanne is just boring.

If I was producer the first thing I'd do is axe Sean and Michelle. Truly awful characters.

If this is seriously Kate Oates work, I despair. I really do.

Did you see the factory walkout last week? That was quite possibly the nadir of Corrie.

The first episode wasn't too bad but the second one? Completely downhill in the space of half an hour!!

The problem is that for a long time now Corrie has based its style on old episodes of Neighbour's.

When Corrie would do better to base its style on old eps of the Royle Family.

Not whilst the 'man on a roof' episode exists.

I'm still amazed at just how awful that was. At least the factory walk out didn't have Liz's shrieking involved.

To be fair you do pretty much know what to expect these days. Every episode is consistently bad. Nothing about it is believable. I can't remember it ever being this bad. Mind you still waiting for Maria's big part so there is a fair chance that things could get even worse.

The Nick and Steve stuff tonight would give that a run for its money.

Not directly but she was shrieking in the pub about the babeh in the same episode, which made it even worse.

Even the first episode wasn't remotely interesting. Same old, same old tripe.

Sean behaving like an utter idiot.

Maria moaning to Audrey about something. Yawn.

Then there was the ridiculous Nick/Steve ordeal.

The Leanne storyline sounded good on paper, but it's rubbish. Everyone is acting ridiculously. It is nothing to do with Nick. Then we have to put up with Liz McDonald groaning on and on to everyone, every episode, screaming and shouting at Steve and Leanne about what's right and what's wrong. Dreadful.

What walkout?

They didn't walkout because of the being bollocked for watching a film did they?

I've only been dipping in and out recently, to preserve my sanity, must have missed that episode.

They walked out on the basis the management wouldn't tell them who had reported them for dossing. A really strong case. They broke down under the lure of a box of cream cakes.

Presumably, Kate thingy's masterplan is to make it even worse than Emmerdale. Great job so far.

I'm hanging on by a thread What is up with the writers, the director, the actors and everyone involved They surely are cringing with embarrassment at this drivel they are making. It's repetitive, cliched and completely unbelievable. Unless of course it is one big joke and the joke is on us. If we wait until April maybe an April fool will be revealed

I am not giving up hope it will improve. It is very early days for Kate Oates so she is probably assessing what works and what doesn't. I think that it will improve in a couple of months. She just needs to male brave decisions like axing dead wood characters and taking other characters in new directions. I really like in Emmerdale how they explored story lines that are different like Lawrence's chemical castration, Ashley's dementia. I also like the way that they seem to form friendships in the village whereas in Corrie people can be quite insular and see family or people of a completely different age. Leanne has been in it for years and has no proper mates. Sinead has her Auntie. Craig has Faye and Tim. Simon has his cousin Amy.

I could have done without seeing that.

I'm not homophobic, although I am fully aware I am gonna sound it.... But I am sick of seeing so many men snogging on tv. I see men getting it on so rarely in real life, and yet homosexuality is rammed down our throats on telly every day. Every last damn programme has gays on it. And God forbid you comment or say you don't wanna see it.

And don't even get me started on the amount of OTT camp men on tv. Coach Trip, X Factor, Big Brother, every damn soap. WTF? Hate me, bash me, whatever, but I am entitled to say I am sick of seeing it, and I don't wanna see it.

And what did Todd mean, riding on the bishops petticoat or whatever? (On the bit where he was snogging Billy.....)
