Neighbours - Lou Carpenter

When Lou left last May we were told that he would continue to return to film guest appearances, so far that has happened once, but with very little mention of him for quite some time and nothing has been mentioned about a possible return begs the question will he return? Obviously Tom Oliver was keen to reduce his work levels from about 4 months a year to significantly less but it seems strange that he hasnt come back. Will we have to wait until Brad and Lauren's wedding for him to return if indeed he does.

Brad & Lauren's wedding seems like an obvious story for Lou to return for. I guess Tom Oliver really wanted to do as little as possible. I don't expect Lou to return every year, so if he does come back for the wedding, I can't imagine he'll return again (so soon after at least).

It would be a shame for Lou to permanently depart after Lauren and Brad's wedding. It always seemed slightly strange that he didnt come back after the death of Doug, while i know that Doug's funeral was off screen it was still strange.

The thing is that Lou has become synonymous with Neighbours, it just doesnt seem the same show without him on there. It is understandable that Tom Oliver has completely cut down his hours (he is 78 after all) but it would be nice for him to return at some point.

It seems that if Ian Bishop was to reprise his role of Harold that Lou would return as well. In many respects it would work well to bring Lou back just to kill him off if Tom Oliver doesnt wish to continue the role. It would bring closure to the character after all.

I would be quite happy for him not to return at all as I dislike the character and his "comedy" situations. If he just appears and doesn't do anything silly then that would be fine!

Hear! Hear! He's well past his sell-by date as a character and I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds his 'pranks' less than amusing!

These twins that have recently turned up are looking for their dad, if Lou was still around he'd be the ideal candidate, and it would extend laurens family, shes only got paige and she'll be leaving soon

He's only a guest character now just like Lucy Robinson - he's not contracted to appear. The producers may not bother to ask him back and if they do he may decline. Any appearance he now makes is purely in a guest capacity and may well be his last, there's no guarantee he'll keep returning.

Well the actor is in his late seventies so would probably like to take a back seat now!
