Who actually IS the baby's father? I've missed a few episodes occasionally and I've no idea. Do we know or is it going to be an EE cliffhanger?

I managed to catch most of tonights episode (I am popping back to see Colin's return). Was that what they come up with for Grant's BIG return?

The writing was unimaginative. The direction was poor. They seem to play too careful these days.

Also, why is DTC so determined to leak all secrets?

Dennis' death
Mark junior
Billy and the post

Is nothing sacred anymore? Why does everything have to be answered? I liked the fact there was secrets unknown.

It gets worse. What an absolute load of crap.

Oh, we get it, BBC. Because God forbid you are subtle and deep with the message you're trying to get across. God forbid you give your message over as part of an interesting, emotional story, where Ben confronts the monsters who murdered his lover and Grant gets to know his son. It's like watching an modern day episode of Doctor Who - it can't just have a good message - it's got to hit you over and over and over again with it, to the point where you end up more annoyed than informed. And they wonder why I think a female Doctor would end up being awful...

This whole entire plot has been centred around two things - desperately telling us that thugs who beat up gay people for being different are actually little cowards deep down, and setting up a contrived situation so Grant gets to team up with his secret son. This could have been so good, you know. But instead of actually putting some thought into this, they turned these murderous thugs into a poor man's One Direction. Imagine, if you will, if these guys had actually been violent, awful criminals. Actually physically imposing men. They stand there, ready to do Ben in, and Ben laughs in their faces, recognising them for the cowards they are. Imagine how much more powerful this would have been.

But nope. Because we simply have to make sure we get it, these guys are a bunch of incompetent idiots from the start. So, did everyone get it? People who target others for being different are pathetic little cowards. Anyone nod off.

My God, this was pants. Not just the core issues and how they were handled, but all of it. It's so bad, I was literally sat here thinking why?? Just... why?? So let's boil it down.

Why in GOD'S name didn't they just sodding call the Police in the first sodding place? The murderer's kidnapping the main witness against them... urm, call me dumb, but that's a prosecution field day!! I mean, do EE actually think we are that stupid?

Why the hell didn't Jack call the Police?? Or if he's so worried, why didn't he go as well for back up? Grant and Jack vs four losers that even the writers know are awful villains.... come on, it's an easy win. And a special mention for the "Mitchell Code." God, I hate Ronnie when she sprouts crap like this.

Why the hell did Jay and Ben get overpowered so easily? Oh, I get it... Ben couldn't just leave Jay alone with the scary One Direction band. But I mean... it could have been directed better than that, surely? The camera was so shaky I thought I was watching a Bourne movie.

Why did they just leave Jay? And why didn't he just scarper out of the area? What is it on... a tiny Island in the North Sea? Azkaban?

Why in all the contrived piles of contrived pairings did Mark feel the need to grab a bat and follow Grant??? What possible reason did he have for doing this? He doesn't know any of them from Adam! This might have worked if Mark had been around longer than five minutes, and not hastily shoved in here just so DTC can do the ultimate baby plot resolution with Ross Kemp (I seriously think the guy has an unhealthy obsession with these storylines) whilst the guy is available. I recon the writers and producers who first envisioned Grant's secret son by Michelle, a gem of storyline that could rear it's head at literally any point in the next ever, must be hanging their heads in shame at this farce.

We don't know anything about Mark. So all we see when he jumps in this car here is weak, utterly ill thought out writing. In short, a massive pile of crap.

And we still have to endure more Denise looking constipated about Phil being a babydaddy. I've said all I've got to say about this.

What a joke.

Did these homophobes really have no plan whatsoever when they kidnapped Ben and Jay?

So much buildup to Ben finally confronting Paul's killers, but that was hilariously bad He didn't even seem as angry at he should've been....

Denise and Louise. The former will figure about Dee I bet now.

Nice to see Grant and Phil make up finally. And ohhh, the Mark Lambert Bomb is dropped!

Fat Grunt didn't even try to catch them . . Couldn't he find 3 seconds to let Jay out of the van

It was a staring contest.

How does Ben and Jay being kidnapped by those boys jeopardise the case against the boys ?

The ridiculous Kim keeps pestering Denise for the name of the person who got her pregnant. Why on earth does she need to know ?

Mark and Grunt could be brothers. Both are prematurely bad and have piggy eyes.

It was funny how they didn't have time to let Jay out the van. How ridiculous! Also most/all transit vans are made so that they can be opened from the inside to prevent locking yourself in.

Looks like I have not missed much but will catch up tomorrow Mitchell 'gangsta' storylines have always been rubbish since the late '90's.

Get Johnny week was one of the most embarrassing thing the show has ever done.

EE desperately needs some credible new villains that will not cave in as soon as Mitchell shoots his liver from his fat arse at them.

I appreciate what everybody is saying regarding the kidnapping and Grant seeing them off. There is no way at 7.30pm they would show anything violent. Obviously that is what we were all hoping for, and those murderers deserved nothing less. It would have been better if they had a late night special showing the whole incident and the repercussions.

It was ridiculous when one of them said to Simon, what happened was an accident. So four guys stamping on one guy to death is an accident?? I think not! What will be really ridiculous if he these lot get off with everything scot free. Really hope that doesn't happen.

I also think Mark went with Grant because Courtney was really worried, and Mark really likes her.

I felt Ross Kemp was far more natural with Steve McFadden, then he was with actors he had not worked with before.
