Holy Ghost! Yes. defo underrated.

Roisin Murphy - RATED HIGHLY, but deserving of more than her current cult status. Too 'difficult' for le bland mainstream.

Billy Mackenzie/The Associates - see Marc Almond/Siouxsie...”

The Bangles - Going Down To Liverpool.

As far as I'm concerned, they were better pre-Prince, pre-let's make it all about Susanna Hoffs.

"All Over The Place" is a great album too fro 1984 I think.

As soon as I saw this thread two songs came to my head:

Wax - Bridge To Your Heart (mentioned already by the author of this thread - owen10)
Jane Wiedlin - Rush Hour

Wax had an earlier single which didn't chart too well - got to no 60 - but was a catchy song:

Wax - Right Between the Eyes

They certainly were. 'All Over The Place' is a gem.

'Different Light' is good too, but it's over-produced and the use of session musicians really annoys. They don't sound like the Bangles at times.

And yes, the record company's attempts at pushing Susanna was annoying. By the third album the cracks were obvious, and the break up soon followed.

Saying that, their early 00's comeback was great, and I got to see them in concert in 2003. Aside from not playing 'Dover Beach', they were brilliant!

this..... rated by (early) dance fans maybe (rightly so) but doesnt get the recognition this pioneering track should get, perhaps in part to the success of its remastered big hit version in the 90's

klf - what time is love (original 1988)

I don't know if it's been posted yet, but I've always loved 'Clouds Across the Moon' by The RAH Band..........

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4R97AeM6IE

........even though my school friends ridiculed it. I generally like science fiction type pop songs, though (eg 'Spacer' by Sheila and B. Devotion is another particular favourite), and didn't care what they thought. I love the (obviously low budget) video, too.

That's one of their most famous songs, i think Down side up and Messages from the stars are a lot more underrated

This is a very underrated song from early 1982;

Trouble - Lindsey Buckingham.

Member of Fleetwood Mac only managed to get this superb track to No31 in late January 1982.

Let it Bee by Voice of the Beehive was one of the finest pop albums of the Eighties (and for that matter Honey Lingers was one of the finest of the Nineties); spent one week inside the Top 20. I Walk the Earth couldn't even make the Top 40 singles chart despite two attempts.

I'm not sure these are truly underrated but you don't hear them much these days.

The Dream Academy 'Life in a Northern Town' https://youtu.be/5UXnulANF8g
The Dream Academy 'Edge of Forever' https://youtu.be/biWQ14bJCvM (Ferris Bueller notwithstanding)

Different Light sure is good, and you know, I rather like "Everything" for the most part too. For me, there were far better tracks on both albums than the ones they released as singles (and probably the ones where Debbi or Vicki were singing lead....).

Lucky you, I assume Michael Steele was still with them at that time (2003). Ah Dover Beach. Talented ladies, all of them.

"Life in a Northern Town" was sampled for "Sunchime" by Dario G which was a big hit in the 90s.
