Possibly. I have quite broad tastes. Aside from how they have performed before, though, I thought they both sang very badly last night. Gifty was trying too hard to 'make the song her own' and it didn't work - it affected her vocals badly. Olivia doesn't have a particularly strong voice and last night she was very nervous, being last to sing, and it affected her vocals badly.

I think Olivia was one of the best last night, its really not easy to sound as good as she did whilst being THAT NERVOUS!! She has a much better natural voice than som e of the others.

If they do then it's from a very limited pool of choices where Simon forces them into picking said song.

Like for example with Olivia last night she could have had these as her few choices to pick from.

Changing by Sigma
Lipstick by Jedward
Enter Sandman by Metallica

I know that it's hypothetical my selections, but I think that you get my point on how the acts are forced into picking certain songs.

i doubt they can be picking their own songs when there are quite a few people all singing the same one

I cannot understand why Simon did not pick Olivia for the finals. I heard his exchange with Emma & Mel where they seemed to agree she could sing anything.

With Janet and also 4 of Diamonds not selected, not Girl Next Door like I said on another thread, I shall not watch this year's live finals either.

Olivia will be partaking in the Christmas Lights switch-on in her home town of Wigan tomorrow.

She will be joined by Stooshe who were at the Stockport Lights witch-on this evening. It was mainly Karis who introduced the songs. The 5 songs they sang in order were Slip, Waterfalls, Uptown Funk, Let It Go & Black Heart.

Olivia is better than both Sam and Emily IMO.

I think she was denied a place in the finals because, although Simon knew she was good, he was looking for more "newsworthy" singers.

I shall look out for any performances of Olivia's from last night on Youtube.
