Pierce has been 'up to something' since day 1.

Pierce is a somewhat mental control freak. He wants Paddy out of the way so he can have Rhona all to himself without Paddy getting in the way.

It is all leading to Paddy saving the day and himself and Rhona reuniting by Xmas I reckon. The writers have to find a way for Paddy to be a hero in the viewers eyes so they are going to ruin Pierces character to do it.

It was the same with Dopey Marlon when he got together with Laurel. In order for the viewers to buy it (not that we ever did) they made Ashley a villian.

He will start abusing Rhona

I suspect he was abusing Tess and that was why she was so keen to get away from him and now he will start abusing Rhona.

I don't really know what to think. I thought payback for Tess's affair with Paddy and death, but weren't they separated?
Conveniently taking over Rakesh's job, I'm sure had to do with that. Whatever it is I hope it comes to a head soon so that we can get rid of him.

I think he just doesn't want Rhona to be in the same village as Paddy. Once they get back and Paddy's gone, I think Pierce will relax again.

Maybe. Him smashing the glass shows that he was holding back. He might start abusing Rhona and if he does, Marlon will tell Paddy through a webcam chat as soon as he can.

I don't think Pierce will ever relax - he's a complete and utter control freak, everyone has to do exactly what he wants. He'll be constantly on the look out for the way people talk to Rhona and will probably go mental eventually if he thinks they're out of order. I don't envy Rhona one little bit.

I don't think he wants Rhona. I think it's just tit for tat re Paddy and Tess.
He keeps doing those over the shoulder looks that soaps are so fond of.

I feel like it is a revenge relationship too. Pierce has set his sights on Rhona to hurt Paddy, but it does look as if things are going to get very dark and sinister.
Many of the villagers seem to have accepted Pierce in a very short space of time, and he even managed to "steal" Rakesh's job from him, so he must have an agenda.

The crazy bit for me is him being almost best friends with Marlon. Maybe it's for Leo's sake but it doesn't ring true. Marlon's loyalties would surely lie with Paddy.

Yeah, it's pretty clear he is unhinged. He seems like a control freak which is probably why Tess had the affair. Emmerdale will likely go the predictable route and have Paddy save the day.

Hopefully Pierce locks Rhona up iin a basement somewhere never to be seen or heard from again. Paddy will move on and reunite with Chas.

Very probably, but Marlon is almost putting him before Paddy now. That's what I don't get.

He has that Derek out of Sunset Beach vibe to him !

I have a feeling that this storyline will be a slow burner. We're starting to get some hints that Pierce is turning controlling in the relationship. I think It will be an interesting storyline to see unfold.
