Rhona didn't betray Paddy emotionally though. She did what she did ( which was only to lead Vanessa on, really)because she needed drugs. Paddy actually fell for Tess and had a full blown affair.

Paddy needs redeeming because he conducted a continuing affair with another woman.

As I'm sure you know very well - Rhona did not have an 'affair' with Vanessa. She sadly became addicted to painkillers to the point of being prepared to do almost anything to feed her addiction. In other words, she had an illness.
During said illness, rather than supporting her through it, Saint Paddeh was busy shagging Chas.

Paddy did try to finish it but Twisted Tess wouldn't let go. I suppose she could be excused, having been married to Pervy Percy!

You just know that's how it'll play out though. They're not exactly building towards it with subtlety.

Maybe they'll surprise us, and Rhona will rescue herself, and still dump Paddy, you never know. Hope springs eternal.
