Now that Hollyaoks as revealed their new opening which of the other soaps do you think needs a new one?

I think Corrie needs one desperately, they need to remix the theme song so its more modern like Emmerdale did and include the cast in the opening.

I like the Corrie titles, if anything they need to go back to older ones with the more traditional soundtrack.

YES!

Those are by far the best titles the show has ever had and really made the show stand out from the rest. I really hate the current ones.

Corrie also need shots of the set, in focus. I don't think the current ones draw in the viewer, they haven't captured the character or spirit of the show in any measure.

Hollyoaks, why can't I vote it? I find it so embarrassing now.

Corrie desperately need new titles, the current blurred ones are awful. I'd also like It to go back to the old music.


I completely agree, I loved those tiles showing the Yorkshire Dales from above, bring them back!!

I like Emmerdale's current opening, I its fast paced, modern and exciting. The only thing I'd change about it is update the shot of Home Farm.

I too would prefer a more rural feel to the ED opening credits. I get quite nostalgic when I remember the old Emmerdale Farm ending with the sun setting behind the farmhouse - but that wouldn't fit with the modern programme.

I haven't watched River City for a while but I used to think it's opening credits were awful. It looked like something from a daytime magazine programme about Glasgow - ie done on the cheap.

I disagree entirely. I think I'd possibly like them more if they didn't look like they gave a cat a GoPro.

The theme, especially the disjointed bridge as we reach the village scene, is also terrible.

I guess i'm in the minority, I think the theme fits with the show, the old theme was nice but didn't fit with a show filled with affairs, disasters and violence.

I like the 1969 titles. Proper gritty. The 1976 titles are more iconic though.

For today, I would try to give the street more of a sense of place than it currently has. I think the 1969 titles did this well (as did 2002), so it would be something along those lines.

EastEnders, it's never changed! Could just imagine a Neighbours or Hollyoaks style opening titles with the Mitchells all playing happy families & looking into the camera with cheesy grins hahaha!

Yeah, this one was the best of them all, so pretty to look at.

But really, I dont pay too much attention. After you've seen it a few times I am mostly just skipping forward to the start of the show and dont even watch the opening anymore.

Definitely EastEnders! The theme tune is fine but that boring map of London has always been really dull and now looks kind of irrelevant. EE is not about the whole of London, just Albert Square.

EE's are my favourite. They update it to reflect changes in London, but unlike Corrie's, they do 'set the scene' for the audience.

It's not in the poll but Home and Away is crying out for it. The theme was probably the most iconic of all the soaps and they took it away about 9 years ago
