I'm great thanks. On a bit of a high at the mo. Our 11 yr old started 'big school' and we were sick with worry because she is so painfully shy and socially anxious with a pathological fear of embarrassment - she struggled terribly in a tiny rural primary school - it was heartbreaking so we were preparing ourselves for the worst with her going to this huge grammar school but she's been remarkable. So independent, so confident. Can't believe it. So proud! And relieved!! Long may it last.

Awwww. Bit in bold - my 11 year son to a T. He's still got a year of primary school to go but I'm dreading next year! I'm delighted it went well for her. Someone once said to me that as the years go by these are the children who begin to shine more and more. They stand back because they're smart. They're socially anxious because they're analytical beyond their years. They're geniuses, basically, like their mammies

That is exactly it. She's said herself that she's too aware of social hierarchy and classroom politics (!) and just shies away from it. Sad thing is if she had the confidence to show her true self she'd more than hold her ground - sharp as a tack she is.

It's so hard watching them struggle but try not to worry - secondary schools can suit quieter children better. More 'anonymous', larger pool with more quiet children who flock together plus my daughter says she loves how she's not in the same class with the same people day in day out so if there is someone very overbearing or intimidating she can escape.

In primary I think they are flung together and there's more pressure to be part of large groups. In secondary they have more freedom to choose what they do in lunch breaks and can take off in pairs or small groups for quiet time. Much less intimidating.

And yep in time they will shine. Although we know they do already. 😉

Maybe if you stop following snapchat or following "young people" on it then you maybe able to answer your questions. And maybe because people like you are funding her lifestyle or the many other social media "jobless youths" (as you call it) through constantly giving them social media views and clicks....

I think the OP was fair enough. I don't have a problem with people remarking on other people's lifestyles when it's put out there so publicly. My only issue with it is that it singles Georgina out when there are many many ex HMs out there with fairly vacuous and materialistic (in some people's humble opinions) lifestyles on display. Imo it's unremarkable but if the OP wants to comment on it I can't see why not.

- I find this rather sad, to be honest. This is my advice, and I am not being condescending. Try to find purpose and meaning in your OWN life...something to fill the void. Obsession over pseudo (or even real) celebrities isn't healthy.
