Friday 9th September Rugby Union: Premiership Worcester Warriors v Gloucester - Russell Hargreaves Saturday 10th September Rugby Union: Premiership Leicester Tigers v Wasps - Simon Ward talkSPORT 2 Sunday 11th September Andrew McKenna presented Aviva Premiership Live from Sandy Park Rugby Union: Premiership Exeter Chiefs v Saracens - Andrew McKenna and James Simpson-Daniel (3pm commentary), with Abi Paterson producing Following the live commentary, Macca and James presented The Rugby Show between 5-6pm from Sandy Park - Jackson Wray and Shane Williams were among their guests. It looks like Sunday afternoons at 3pm is set to become the regular timeslot for talkSPORT 2's live Premiership rugby union coverage - they are scheduled to be covering Wasps v Bristol in that timeslot next weekend (with The Rugby Show to follow at 5pm) and BT Sport have plenty of live Sunday games pencilled for the coming weeks. Last season's Friday night timeslot has become the preserve of Tom Rennie's magazine show The Weekend Starts Here between 6-8pm before commentary from rugby league's Super League - it was Hull FC v Wigan this weekend and will be Warrington v Wigan next Friday - but it will be interesting to see if that changes next month at the conclusion of the Super League Play-Off Semi-Finals (the Grand Final being on Saturday 8th October). |

BBC 5 Live - Rio 2016 Paralympics
Presenters: Jonathan Overend and Gigi Salmon Athletics: Ed Harry, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Allison Curbishley, Jeanette Kwakye Swimming: Chris Mitchell, Graham Edmonds, Kate Grey Cycling: Rob Hatch, Colbourne Reporters: Reshmin Chowdhury, Andy Stevenson, Nick Hope BBC World Service - Rio 2016 Paralympics Presenter: Sarah Mulkerrins Commentators and reporters: Ade Adodoyin, Seth Bennett, Nick Marshall-McCormack I think the 5Live coverage was outstanding and the best Paralympic coverage the station has ever produced, helped by the timings avoiding the evening football but not as late as the Olympics. I also enjoyed Rob Hatch's commentaries. I don't really listen to the Tour de France so this was the first time I've really heard him but I though he really good but the whole team were first class. |

Sunday 18th September - BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra
Charles Dagnall presented 5 Live NFL alongside Rob Staton with Greg Brady in Toronto American Football: NFL Week 2 (as Westwood One) Cincinnati Bengals @ Pittsburgh Steelers - John Sadak and Mike Mayock (6pm BST commentary)* Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Arizona Cardinals - Sam Rosen and Ross Tucker (9.05pm BST commentary) *5 Live NFL picked up commentary on this match with 6.53 left in the fourth quarter. Their broadcast began at 7.30pm with them doing roughly 75 minutes of studio-based discussion and updates of the early scores before picking up their simulcast commentary from Westwood One. Rob Staton - a football presenter and commentator from BBC Radio Sheffield, who blogs about the Seattle Seahawks and college football at Seahawksdraftblog - joined Charles and Greg from the start until half-time in the main commentary game. At half-time, they played an interview Charles conducted with Warwickshire cricketer and San Francisco 49ers fan Jonathan Trott earlier in the week. This Sunday's 5 Live NFL will broadcast San Diego Chargers @ Indianapolis Colts as their featured commentary at 9.25pm, with the closing stages of Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers preceding that during their near-two hours of discussion and build-up from 7.30pm. Both games are airing nationally in the United States via Westwood One, with the same commentary teams heard in Week 2 working in the opposite timeslots to the ones they were in then. |

Sunday 25th September - BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra
Charles Dagnall presented 5 Live NFL alongside Mike Carlson and Phil Spooner American Football: NFL Week 3 (as Westwood One) San Diego Chargers @ Indianapolis Colts - John Sadak and Mike Mayock (9.25pm BST commentary) 5 Live NFL took at least one snatch of late fourth quarter commentary on (a) score(s) from Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers, which Sam Rosen and Ross Tucker were calling for Westwood One from 6pm our time. The first two hours of their coverage were primarily devoted to them discussing the plays from all of the 6pm games as they occurred. At half-time, they featured a pre-recorded interview Simon Crosse did in Manchester with recently-retired wide receiver Greg Jennings. This Sunday, their featured commentary will be Denver Broncos @ Tampa Bay Bucaneers at 9.05pm, with Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons being the 6pm game they are listed to take coverage of - both of which are Westwood One matches. Beforehand, Charles Dagnall will be at Wembley Stadium to provide 5 Live Sport with updates on the first NFL International Series game, Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars. |

With it being an international football weekend, talkSPORT 2 will broadcast two Premiership commentaries during the next matchround. They'll have coverage of Harlequins v Northampton Saints from 2pm in Saturday's Matchday Live 2 slot in the absence of a Premier League commentary, while Sunday's game is Saracens v Wasps at 3pm, to be followed as usual by The Rugby Show. There won't a Friday night commentary though, despite there being no more Friday night Super League - on that, commentary on the Super League Grand Final will be on talkSPORT.
According to talkSPORT 2's managing editor Mike Bovill, the BBC have rights to England's tour of Bangladesh, but have decided to only cover the two-game Test match series - with both the Telegraph's website and Charles Sale in the Daily Mail claiming that the BBC were priced out of gaining the rights to the ODIs, the former stating that the Bangladesh Cricket Board sold the radio rights to a third party seller and the latter claiming they were seeking quadruple the normal fee. With the BBC unwilling to meet this cost, talkSPORT 2 have stepped in at the 11th hour - and in response to Simon Hughes suggesting this will be the case, the station's Twitter feed has not denied (and thus openly implied) that their commentators will be working off-tube from London given the situation. Cricket Week presenter Jon Norman has tweeted that talkSPORT 2's commentary team for tomorrow's first ODI will be Andrew McKenna, Phil Walker (the editor of All Out Cricket magazine who has worked on their T20 Blast and IPL coverage), Mike Selvey and Steve Harmison. Harmison and Selvey are pencilled in for their coverage of the second and third ODIs on Sunday and Wednesday, with coverage on all three days running between 9am-5pm. Also next week, talkSPORT 2 will be covering the latest ATP World Tour Masters 1000 series event, the Shanghai Masters. However, they are only due to be covering the event from Thursday onwards (this was the case before the international cricket was scheduled earlier today), with weekday coverage running between 11am-3pm, Saturday's semi-finals going out from 9-11am and then during Matchday Live 2 from the earlier start time of 1pm until Premier League commentary at 3pm, with Sunday's final being broadcast after the Japan MotoGP between 9am-12noon. |

Sunday 2nd October - BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra
Charles Dagnall presented 5 Live NFL with Greg Brady in Toronto American Football: NFL Week 4 (as Westwood One) Denver Broncos @ Tampa Bay Bucaneers - John Sadak and Jason Taylor (9.05pm BST commentary) The featured game was delayed for almost 90 minutes with just 6.52 remaining in the fourth quarter. Radio 5 Live Sports Extra stayed on-air for about an hour after the initial weather delay, without picking up commentary from another game, before ending their coverage just before 1am - around 30 minutes before the game resumed to its conclusion. With the Broncos having a 20 point lead upon the delay (with there being no further score upon the game's resumption), I can understand why they opted against waiting it out any longer. I didn't hear any commentary clips taken from the advertised featured early match, Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons, or from any of the other 6pm kick-offs, although they opened the show with a Westwood One commentary montage on the NFL International Series game from Wembley Stadium, Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars, with Wayne Larrivee and Mark Malone commentating. They repeated that edit at half-time in their live game and followed it by taking interviews that BBC Radio Humberside's Mike White had conducted at Wembley. Charles Dagnall had reported on that match for BBC Radio 5 Live with JP Shadrick from the Jaguars Radio Network, who like Darren Fletcher appeared as an over-the-phone guest during 5 Live Sports Extra's evening coverage. This Sunday's game will be Buffalo Bills @ Los Angeles Rams from 9.25pm our time, with Charles Dagnall, Mike Carlson and Simon Clancy being 5LSE's studio presentation crew. I notice that they are no longer advertising a 6pm game as being within their coverage, so I'm guessing the first two hours from 7.30pm will be lead by a more general overview of the early action and the week's NFL news as has been the case over the past few Sundays. |

talkSPORT 2
Friday 7th, Sunday 9th and Wednesday 12th October Russell Hargreaves (Fri & Wed) and Will Gavin (Sun) presented International Cricket Live Cricket: One-Day International Series Bangladesh v England - Andrew McKenna, Phil Walker, Steve Harmison (all three ODIs), Mike Selvey (Fri & Sun) and Tymal Mills (Wed) (all 9.30am BST commentaries) McKenna and All Out Cricket magazine editor Walker did the ball-by-ball commentary, with Harmison, Selvey and Mills providing summaries, with the commentators and summarisers working in pairs of two. McKenna tended to do the first and last shift in the commentary box prior to and after each game, but they did have additional presentation - in the form of an edition of talkSPORT Today - during the break between innings at around 1pm our time with each morning's Sportsday presenter, so Russell Hargreaves for the weekday games and Will Gavin on Sunday. Like David, I enjoyed what I heard of talkSPORT 2's coverage - they did a fine job of covering the series at short notice. Saturday 8th October Russell Hargreaves presented Matchday Live 2 from the Twickenham Stoop Rugby Union: Premiership Harlequins v Northampton Saints - Russell Hargreaves and Tom May (3pm commentary) Sunday 9th October Russell Hargreaves presented The Rugby Show from Allianz Park Rugby Union: Premiership Saracens v Wasps - Russell Hargreaves and Gary Street talkSPORT 2 were hoping to provide commentary on at least part of Sunday's Premiership game, which was going to be fully live until they picked up rights to England's ODI series in Bangladesh. Instead, with the second ODI ending after 5pm they just had a truncated Rugby Show from Allianz Park between 5.15-6pm. This enabled Russ to provide reports into talkSPORT, while Russ and Gary did an off-air commentary that went out overnight during the early hours of Monday morning. There'll be no live rugby union on talkSPORT 2 this weekend, what with it being the first round of matches from the European Rugby Champions & Challenge Cups, but in addition to the return of Premier League and La Liga football, they'll have commentary on the last four days of the ATP Shanghai Masters tennis (times being 11am-3pm Thu & Fri, 9-11am & 1-3pm-ish Sat and 9am-12noon Sun) plus the Japanese MotoGP before the final of the tennis on Sunday. |

Sunday 9th October - BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra
Charles Dagnall presented 5 Live NFL alongside Mike Carlson and Simon Clancy American Football: NFL Week 5 (as Westwood One) New England Patriots @ Cleveland Browns - John Sadak and Mike Mayock (6pm BST commentary) Buffalo Bills @ Los Angeles Rams - Steve Raible and Mike Holmgren (9.25pm BST commentary) It turns out that 5LSE did have a featured early game last Sunday, the obvious choice being Tom Brady's return for the Patriots following his Deflategate suspension. The programme started with an edit of the first half action, but they would only pick up very sporadic bits of live commentary an hour into their coverage at around 8.30pm our time early on in the fourth quarter. There's no live 5 Live NFL tonight due to 5 Live Sports Extra's commitment to the ongoing West Indies v England women's cricket series. |

talkSPORT 2
Thursday 13th to Sunday 16th October ATP Shanghai Masters Tennis Live presented by Ray Stubbs and Andrew McKenna (Thursday), Mark Webster and Andrew McKenna (Friday), Will Gavin (Saturday and Sunday mornings) and Ian Danter (Saturday afternoon) Tennis: ATP Shanghai Masters Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena - commentary on the ATP men's singles event The daily commentary teams were: Thursday (Round of 16) - Joe Shennan, Rupert Bell and Simon Cambers Friday (Quarter-Finals) - Rupert Bell, Naomi Cavaday and Nick Lester Saturday (Semi-Finals: Djokovic v Agut & Murray v Simon) - Gigi Salmon, Simon Cambers and Luke Milligan Sunday (Final: Andy Murray v Roberto Bautista Agut) - Gigi Salmon and Naomi Cavaday Good to hear live studio presentation returning to talkSPORT 2's coverage of the Shanghai Masters after there hadn't been any during the station's coverage of the previous two ATP World Tour Masters 1000 series events in Toronto and Cincinnati. I suspect this might have been because talkSPORT 2 have phased out live evening presentation outside of their magazine shows and live football coverage, yet the Shanghai event took place in the morning and afternoon our time. Coverage went out between 11am-3/4pm on Thursday and Friday, the respective semi-finals between 9-11.40am and 1-2.50pm on Saturday (the latter during Matchday Live 2) and Sunday's final between 9.30-11.30am. I'm not sure if they had presentation ahead of their weekday morning starts (or if it was just a case of the Ray Stubbs show hosts taking over between matches), if so it will have been Russell Hargreaves, who hosted Sportsday on both mornings. Sunday 16th October Will Gavin presented MotoGP Live MotoGP: Japanese Grand Prix Twin Ring Motegi - Nick Harris, Steve Day and Matthew Birt, with Dylan Gray in the pitline (commentary on the MotoGP race, as the TV international feed) talkSPORT 2 usually carry commentary on all three races, including Moto2 and Moto3, from a MotoGP Grand Prix day, but with this weekend's race beginning early in the morning - just after 6am our time - they only broadcast the main event. Will Gavin anchored coverage, which lasted around an hour before the race ended and he segued into Sportsday and then coverage of the Shanghai Masters Final. It looks like we'll be getting the same set-up this coming Sunday as it's the Australian MotoGP, with coverage scheduled for 6-7am once again. However, one week later on Sunday 30th October, coverage of the Malaysian MotoGP is listed for 5-8am. There's no live rugby union next weekend due to it being the second round of European fixtures, the next live Premiership commentary will be Exeter Chiefs v Bath from 3pm on Sunday 30th. |
