I wasn't aware ESPN Radio's online commentaries had been blocked. How long were they blocked for?

ESPN Radio blocked their NBA commentaries for two seasons I think. I'm guessing it was a rights issue, as they were available through their main stream in the days when the late Dr Jack Ramsay was their co-commentator. These rights restrictions appear to have been lifted now, going by what I've read online it appears as if Christmas Night's streaming was intentional.

In contrast, ESPN Radio's Major League Baseball and college sports commentaries have always been available online, while their Sunday afternoon NFL commentaries never have been since they began a few years ago.

talkSPORT

Friday 23rd December

Rugby Union: Premiership
Northampton Saints v Sale Sharks - Simon Ward

Tuesday 27th December

Rugby Union: Premiership Big Game 9
Harlequins v Gloucester - Russell Hargreaves

Christmas Eve - talkSPORT and talkSPORT 2

Andrew McKenna presented Aviva Premiership Live from the Ricoh Arena

Rugby Union: Premiership
Saracens v Newcastle Falcons - Russell Hargreaves and Maggie Alphonsi (1.30pm commentary on talkSPORT 2)
Wasps v Bath - Andrew McKenna and Gary Street (2pm commentary on talkSPORT)

Between 1-1.30pm, Andrew McKenna anchored a joint build-up on talkSPORT and talkSPORT 2 before handing over to the commentary team at the latter stations' live game, in a similar way to how they operate on Champions League matchnights when both stations have separate commentaries.

talkSPORT 2

Boxing Day

Ian Danter presented Aviva Premiership Live

Rugby Union: Premiership
Bristol v Worcester Warriors - Andrew McKenna and Henry Thomas (3pm commentary)

Tuesday 27th December

Will Gavin presented Aviva Premiership Live

Rugby Union: Premiership Big Game 9
Harlequins v Gloucester - Andrew McKenna and Andy Goode (4pm commentary)

It's unusual to hear talkSPORT 2's Aviva Premiership coverage have separate studio presenters, but that has what's happened over the last couple of days with Ian and Will hosting talkSPORT Today either side of the live coverage.

This Sunday/New Year's Day's live game will be Leicester Tigers v Saracens. It'll be interesting to see if they have a commentary the following weekend - the last Premiership matchround for a month - given that it is FA Cup Third Round weekend, with football commentary to be spread out across talkSPORT and talkSPORT 2.

talkSPORT

Thursday 15th December to Monday 2nd January

Darts: PDC World Championship 2017
Alexandra Palace, London - Dan Dawson

Friday 30th December

Rugby Union: Premiership
Newcastle Falcons v Wasps - Simon Ward

New Year's Day - talkSPORT 2

Andrew McKenna presented Aviva Premiership Live and The Rugby Show from Welford Road

Rugby Union: Premiership
Leicester Tigers v Saracens - Andrew McKenna and Craig Newby (3pm commentary)

With talkSPORT 2 set to broadcast live FA Cup commentaries on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon, the station's live game from the next round of Premiership matches will be Newcastle Falcons v Bath on Friday night. Good to see this scheduled and it's also nice to hear that they will be visiting Kingston Park for what I believe is the first time since the station was launched.

Looking ahead to future FA Cup rounds, Fourth Round weekend will not clash with a Premiership matchround (it's the Anglo-Welsh Cup instead) but Fifth Round weekend will, which is the last round that may open up the proposition of multiple FA Cup commentaries on talkSPORT 2.

I'd missed the news that Dave Woods have been appointed BBC Rugby League Correspondent.

Obvious choice but I was wondering if his TV work might have been an issue but pleased with the appointment.
