Daisy & Aljaz will be dancing their Viennese Waltz to 'Daisy Bell' by Harry Dacre.

I had this down as one of her song choices before the series began, my Mum used to sing this to us I love it.

Here is a beautiful version I found on Youtube.
It is a good song for a VW, but it's getting very competitive now, and I don't think it gives much scope to generate romantic chemistry.
I'm not keen on the song choice. Last year Helen shone in a beautifully choreographed VW, which I believe Aljaz can achieve with the Daisy Bell song, and her dance had a maturity and coming-of-age quality. Sadly Helen left the following week, which was one of those quirks of fate on Strictly and sad because she had come of age as a dancer on the show. Daisy is not as accomplished as Helen dancing and her song is more whimsical and twee.

Leaving aside my feelings about the song choice, this could be a great week from Daisy with a bottom two bounce. I hope so for her sake.

Whimsical yes which suits Daisy but I wouldn't say twee, 'Daisy Bell' is a fantastic, traditional music hall song.

Yes Helen's VW was one of the dances of the Series, but the song had everything to help create that mood. I think they chose this song because it had Daisy in the title.
It will still be very good, and I hope you are right and Aljaz can get a similar mood to the dance as last year.

Daisy & Aljaz's ITT interview, Week 7

They were both wearing their outfits for the Pride of Britain Awards.

Love this photo of Daisy and the caption.

Zoe begins by complimenting them on their costumes and makeup. Aljaz says incredible, Daisy that the brief was 'pretty skulls' and that the wardrobe, makeup and hair teams go over and above for everyone.

On their Halloween Paso Doble . . .

Daisy: 'I loved that Paso, it's such a passionate dance. It was really difficult coming to terms with being aggressive and tough like that because I'm just not like that naturally but once I got my head around it I loved it so much and I had the best time. I think when it got to the Saturday night I felt like I didn't do it as well as I had done in rehearsals though.'

Aljaz disagrees.

Zoe asks Daisy if performing was any more nervewracking considering she'd been in the dance off the week before.

Daisy: 'Yeah of course and wanting to kind of prove that I deserved to be there as well and also more than anything just saying 'I'm still really enjoying it and I still can do the steps, I promise.''

On ending up in the bottom two again . . .

Zoe mentions their highest score to date of 33.

Aljaz: 'It's always tough, always tough and I did know as soon as we'd finished the dance on Saturday that Daisy did an incredible job. Yet again I wasn't being easy on her with the steps and choreography and there was some really tricky footwork within that whole routine and to stay in character and the makeup was incredible. So the whole thing, I just loved the whole look, the whole dance. It was one of my favourite dances that I've ever done on Strictly.'

Zoe brings up the support they've received online and reads out a tweet from a fan that ends 'Keep smiling.'

Then the moment with Tess where Daisy was breathing deeply after it was announced they were in the bottom two.

Daisy: 'I had just turned to Aljaz and said 'I don't think I can do that dance again' and then they called our name and I just thought 'Well I'm going to have to then.' () But actually in all honesty I was really pleased that I got an opportunity to do it better because I felt like I hadn't done it as well as I could have and then I really went for it in the dance off.'

Aljaz nodding 'You really went for it yeah.'

Aljaz: 'Again with that makeup and because I did tell Daisy that whenever in the routine you feel like you want to scream or shout to get more in to character do it and there was that one point that I looked at Daisy and she shouted and I was like with the makeup 'Woah!' I got out of character.' Aljaz scared by Skeleton Daisy ha ha.

Zoe asks Aljaz what perhaps people aren't seeing at home as to why they're not getting the votes.

Aljaz: 'I think that Daisy comes in every single week, I mean that we got the best score this week just proves it, that she works so hard. The steps that I'm throwing in there are really difficult every single week and I think we just need to keep doing that. We've got some beautiful dances left, I love the dance we're doing this week already. I just want her to get better every week and that 's the important thing.'

Zoe mentions Len's praise for Daisy's 'heel turn in to a twist turn step'.

Daisy: 'Aljaz had said to me previously 'You always get the steps right but make sure you do that bit right because that is important technical dance work.''

Aljaz: 'I said it much more happier . . . 'I would really love you to . . . ''

Daisy: 'No you had Paso face all day, what are you talking about.'

Strict Aljaz

Aljaz: 'That is actually a really tricky step to do because the timing is hard and in Paso Doble everything is fast but to be able to do a little heel turn there, yeah I loved it.'

Daisy's Burp VT

Daisy says it happened again in training that day and thank goodness in ballroom hold she was to the left of him . . . and that her Grandma's going to be mortified.

On their Viennese Waltz and being back to Ballroom . . .

Daisy: 'Back in the hold, it feels like the womb, it's so comforting. () We haven't been able to be in hold for four weeks now since our Quickstep and it does feel really good. I also forgot how actually painful it is to keep your arms up like this all the time. It's the head and apparently you (Aljaz) were saying today that in the Viennese Waltz it needs to be even further backwards, up.' Both demonstrate, Aljaz 'Out of shot'

Daisy says she gets to smile.

Zoe takes them back to their Unforgettable Waltz and asks if we're going to see something like that again.

Aljaz: 'I think so, Waltz was beautiful and I loved the Mary Poppins Quickstep. I actually couldn't wait to get back to Ballroom because I know that Daisy loves it and it's a song that is very self explanatory. I think everyone's going to love it but I always love a Viennese Waltz on the show. It's that beautiful feeling of a ball in Vienna and doing it on that Strictly floor is always special.'

Daisy: 'I'm excited to dress up like a princess.'

Thanks for that Missed ITT last night.

VW is one of my favourite dances. Can't wait for Daisy's performance and I really hope she avoids the dance off this week!!

Enjoyed most of that. Glad that Daisy has risen to the challenge she faced when she agreed to do the show. She's gaining confidence that will hold her in good stead the rest of her life.

I did feel bad for her when Lorraine introduced the clip of her Dad as "a message from" because she brightened right up and then it was just an interview with him talking about her for a bit. That is NOT a message, Lorraine. Don't create expectations you can't deliver on.

The Mirror and The Sun are reporting Daisy's breakup yesterday with her boyfriend Frankie (no-one else involved, pressures of work) . It might be a nonsense story - its the red-tops after all.

Wishing her all the best I am very glad that her song this week is on the cheerful side rather than an emotional number - makes it a little bit easier. I thought her training clip looked very good on ITT so well done to Daisy in what has probably been a difficult week.

Using my web site votes to try and keep Daisy out of the DO this week - especially if she is mid table !

The VW looked very good to me.

Me too and it's normally my least favourite dance. Just shows you what a difference the right music and some lovely choreography can make.

Daisy and Aljaz's VW was my favourite dance of the night actually - stylistically wonderful and technically perfect (well to my untrained eye) - I liked it very, very much!

I agree. Personally I thought they were undermarked and deserved at least all 9s and ideally a 10.

Lovely choreography from Aljaz, especially the clever ending. Daisy had a lovely dress; the bodice was beautiful. I thought the lower half of her body did not move as well as expected so think her score was very fair. Aljaz is speaking up more and I'm loving that. The media's desire to turn this couple into the Strixtly Curse is nauseating. It's clear they get along really well and that Daisyand Janette get on well too. I can see them remaining friends post-show.

Hi all. I'm a regular in a different AT but wanted to pop by and say how much I enjoyed Daisy's VW, (she's become my Favorite female celeb), and I'm gutted she was in the D/O twice.
So much so, I gave 3 of my online votes for her last night, hoping I've helped keep her where she deserves.

Really nice that lots of forumites got behind Daisy and nice she got her belated bottom two bounce. Aljaz was more happy than her I think!

YAY! So pleased Daisy and Aljaz escaped this week's dance off! Let's hope they have another ballroom dance next weekend which should hopefully go in their favour and keep them out of harms way.

Aljaz is getting closer and closer to lifting that glitterball again, which he truly deserves!

Latest comment in MF's Five Thoughts thread

Daisy & Aljaz - nice to see a smiling Daisy resurrect the colorful fruit stands and vibrant flowers to life, and thought for a brief moment they were dancing in a real, time period market square. The light skipping touches near the judges table and residual Mary Poppin hints towards the end (Len) added to the nice, whimsical feel. Wished maybe she could've elongated/stretched her neck a bit in hold (Darcy), but it was nice to see how the couple brought the scenery to life and restored a sense of old storybook magic to their Viennese Waltz.

Thank you Maggie x

Throwing all my votes behind Daisy & Aljaz now! I've been enjoying rewatching their 'Daisy Bell' Viennese Waltz since the weekend.

Looking forward to finding out their Week 8 dance and music later, wondering as she danced so many Latins in a row whether she might be given a consecutive Ballroom.
