Too sad to post last night... Still sad today .

I liked Daisy more than I've liked anyone for several years. She comes across as a lovely person and has a nice rapport with Aljaz. I know she wasn't going to win but I was hoping for one more ballroom dance in Blackpool. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

I hope Daisy isn't too disappointed. She did very well in a year where the female celebrities seem to be rather unpopular and the men flavour of the moment.

Thank you Ochre for this lovely thread and to everyone for their company
Your post is a nice homage to Daisy and I felt sad reading it. She has acquitted herself so well on the programme with some lovely dances nicely choreographed by Aljaz. She had a lovely friendship with him too and it made him bring his mischief to
the dance floor. Added to which she has come through as a warm, generous person who is sincere.

Thanks for your company too and I ditto your closing remark.

Hi jean,

Ah I feel the same, how wonderful it would have been to watch Daisy & Aljaz dance together on the Tower Ballroom floor. They've created some special moments on the Strictly dancefloor though and in a very competitive year I'm thrilled she made it to Week 8. I liked Daisy before Strictly, was excited to hear she'd signed up but wasn't sure how much of a fanbase she'd have. She's shown people what a lovely lady she is and I do think has made friends for life in Aljaz and Janette.

I'm looking forward to their ITT interview this evening, tissues ready for their Best Bits VT

Thank you all for your company, I've very much enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts x

Lovely to see Daisy & Aljaz on ITT . Smiling as always. So nice that Daisy's going up to Blackpool to watch and cheer everyone on. I remember Ali - who danced with Aljaz a couple of years ago - did the same. Ok. I'm heading off to have a look around the forum and perhaps lend my support to another couple

I hope Daisy does take up dancing to get herself to a level beyond what she reached on Strictly. Could she do the Tour? If she could get fitter and have a bit more training, she could look very good on Tour. If I remember right, Nicky Byrne reportedly seemed to dance better on the Tour than he had on Strictly.

Great to hear Daisy is confirmed for the Strictly Tour. I hope Aljaz is dancing with her, I wasn't sure because of his and Janette's Remembering Fred Tour (which I'm excited to be going to see) but that doesn't begin until early April so there's probably enough of a rehearsal gap.

That's great news!

I hope Daisy gets fitter and dances even better than on Strictly. I think she can do it and it would leave her feeling even better about her time on Strictly, and show more of her potential.

Good to hear that Daisy is dancing a lot.

She might be an impressive surprise on the Tour.

Hello Ochre. What a lovely post, thank you. Wishing you and your family a happy Christmas and more stability in 2017 after last year's upheavals. These wishes are my virtual to you

Btw, it was lovely to hear that Daisy has taken up dancing. This will help her during the tour. I thought she looked more svelte, which is a nice reward.

At least Aljaz is doing the Tour, so Daisy just has to improve and maybe Aljaz can tweak the choreography slightly to use Daisy's extra ability. I hope they get two really good dance choices.

Danny and Oti are likely to be the winners, and Ore will be dancing with Karen. That may account for the 2 top places, but Daisy could get at least third place.

Hello - just a quick post to say that this interview with Daisy today in the Scotsman is interesting and talks about her plans for 2017.

Daisy is in Miami Beach at the moment because she is going on a cruise with her grandmother over Christmas - presumably with Miami as the point of departure.

So she hasn't flown out specifically to catch up with Alijaz and Janette - that is a happy bonus.

“I’ll be with my grandmother at Christmas,” says Lowe. She needs tender love and care… and sunshine. I don’t think she could cope with staying at home and having her first Christmas without her beloved husband, so I’m taking her on a cruise in the sunshine.”

Brilliant news that Aljaz is doing the tour, I can't imagine Daisy dancing with any of the other Pros.

Pretty certain their 'Unforgettable' Waltz will be one of their two dances. Helen danced two Ballrooms with Aljaz on the Tour last year so I guess Daisy's Quickstep is a possibility for their second. I wondered if they might do their Salsa though. It was a fun number that would translate well to arenas with the music and adapted with backing dancers. Daisy seemed to love Salsa even though it was the one they were eliminated on.

I agree about the Waltz - it should be one of their dances. The Charleston would be improved just by Daisy being fitter, and it was already a very good dance, so there isn't any need to tweak it. My guess is that the Charleston will be their other dance.

A few of the other dances, like the CCC, Rumba and Paso could be good dances for Daisy, but they could do with improvements to the choreography, Daisy's dancing, and Daisy's acting, so they could be excellent if Craig was amenable to changes and Daisy and Aljaz had enough time together to improve one of them, but I don't think that will happen.

Their Charleston is one of my favourite ever Strictly Charleston's, I loved the whole concept. It would be wonderful if that were to be one of their Tour dances

What about their VW?

Another good dance and competition for the Waltz. I think the Waltz has more emotion and romance, and the VW is light hearted and quirky.

It may depend on what the other dance is? eg. if a Rumba, then maybe pair it with the VW, but if Charleston then pair that with the Waltz?

While I loved the charm and quirkiness of their VW, they danced it to the namesake music 'Daisy Bell' and received their highest score for it I just feel their Unforgettable Waltz was their stand out dance, the one a lot of people remember Daisy and Aljaz for even though it was from all the way back in Week One.

However I noticed it was their VW they referenced with the 'bicycle made for two' choreo in the Final group dance and it perhaps has more scope for theming, props and backing dancers. An arena floor full of market stalls with Daisy and Aljaz whizzing round on a real tandem at the start perhaps?

Happy New Year everyone x

Happy New Year Ochre. 2016 has been a difficult year for me one way and another - you might decide it is for you too - but I've enjoyed the forum with you, Sarah and Lou, but especially enjoying revisiting Helen and Aljaz with you. You're one of my favourite forumites and if your persona here is true to you, then you're a lovely person. Wishing the best for you, Mr Ochre - does he know he's part of the convos?!? - and your children in 2017. I hope next year we support more of the same couples next series.

Ah what a lovely message Maggie, thank you. Sorry to hear it's been a difficult year for you, yes certainly the first half was for us though it's funny how initially unplanned and unwanted upheaval has actually brought about changes for the better for our family Mr Ochre does know I mention him on here, hey I likened him to Ore as a dancer so it's not all bad

I'm so glad I joined DS this year and some of my favourite conversations have been with you, the two of us rattling round in Helen's thread with occasional visitors! O/T in here but I did enjoy watching her in the CTM Christmas Special. Helen had the most wonderful partnership with Aljaz and now so has Daisy. He's a special man, one of the best pro partners and teachers.

Really hope to continue chatting Strictly on here with you next series Maggie, all the best for 2017 x
