Aww no ones said salsa, so I'm going to stick up for it. It's just so much fun and it can be very technical with spins and all the arm stuff (there must be a technical term but it escapes me!) and fast but precise footwork. Granted there is the slightly sleazy image but imho it's not warranted.
Louis Smith's salsa was a favourite. |

Louis Smith's salsa was a favourite. Charleston for me - it's such a fun dance. Louis and Sophie Ellis-Bexter's were my absolute favourites but I think Sophie just edges it. |

I voted for Quickstep, but I like all the classic ballroom dances, e.g. waltzes, foxtrots. I also enjoy the fast, fun dances like the Charleston. The only dance I'm really not keen on is the Rumba - it's just a bit slow and boring, and even worse when the celebrities dance it as it's obviously pretty hard to do a good Rumba.

It's easier for me to say what i don't like (rumba and samba) than to choose a favourite.
I've gone for quickstep though as its the one i'd most like to learn. |

Louis Smith's salsa was a favourite. But only to do, not on SCD. And that's because throughout the years we have possibly seen it only 3 or 4 times. And probably why people think of it as sleazy. Even my favourite ever contestant; Mark Ramprakash's much feted salsa bore little relation to actual salsa and it was danced to a Soca track IIRC. No technical terms for the "arm stuff". Certainly not "armography". The "arm stuff" is just a consequence of doing complex turns in a two handed hold. However the figures do have names such as Sombrero, Setenta, etc.

I love the jive, salsa and charleston although I personally don't think the jive should be done too early in the series as it requires a lot of stamina.
My least favourites are the foxtrot and waltz. |

My favourite style was the one that Ola was almost wearing. Any one. I'm sure the dancing was very nice.
