I've started wondering why Sean keeps on being gay. How many partners has he had by now that have dumped him like a crusty old sock at the first opportunity?

It seems as though all the blokes Sean attaches himself too are only ever using him in the interim until someone less Sean like comes along.

I think he should either become celibate or allow some big Eileen character to mother him .
Some huge busty woman who he could clench onto like an oversized version of his dearly beloved cushion.
Come to think of it.....there's always EILEEN. And men are always using her like a cheap tissue as well.

If it wasn't for men like sean who talk about being gay, who fight for their rights and belief's there would be no nearing equality in regards to marriage and gay men would still be having to hide who they are

I wouldn't be a Sean fan if he was the last character in soap (good grief, can you imagine that?! ) but the reason he keeps being gay... umm, because he is gay? It's not something where you can just switch it off if you fancy a go with the other sex. (Unless, you're bi, which Sean isn't.)

Sean seems to be the only gay character that develops the deep feelings for his partner but it's never reciprocated. It's actually getting tedious.

To be fair I don't know if that's necessarily gay bashing is it? Can you be gay and happy of course, does being gay mean you can't have a fulfilling life full of love of course not. But I think it's a fair enough that point that if presented with a straight out choice, between being gay or being straight, the majority of people would choose straight.

I think the poster you quoted may have meant nobody would choose to be gay because of the negative attitudes of others and the difficulties they have being accepted. Having to 'come out' to parents etc before you can be yourself could be pretty traumatic I imagine.

I know you're getting stick for this comment but I know how you meant it (I think) and I am inclined to agree....I imagine it must be a very tough life because even in today's day and age homophobia is still out there and that is terribly unfortunate.

I'm not particularly bothered by Sean as a character, I don't loathe and despise him unlike some people on this forum. I feel for the character at the moment, it's obvious he is broken hearted and feeling discarded.
He can't even trust a man who is supposed to be a man of God, someone who is supposed to have a strong conscience and some sense of duty and honour not too let him down and ditch him for a toy boy. I thought Billy was supposed to be more interested in love instead of cheap thrills?

All of Sean's past boyfriends seem to end up treating him contemptuously. So maybe none of them have had the maturity to work at the relationship.
Maybe he should find an older man then, who actually has time for him?
