More Sony Bravia TVs to lose Youtube access
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-37285718
About a year I think since the last tranche of models lost access. The guy from Gizmodo is absolutely right - never buy a TV for its smart capabilities as they will be outdated well before the end of the sets life. Just buy a smart device and plug it in (which is what I've done by adding Chromecasts to both of my Freeview HD Bravias from 2010 & 2012). |

I bought my Bravia in an Amazon one day sale in July last year, certainly not for the smart abilities which I don't really need or use, except occasionally Wuaki.tv rentals. I mostly use it with Youview, Chromecast or Apple TV, rarely either the smart features or internal Freeview tuners.

I wish more "dumb screens" exist but it's getting to the point where even the supermarket specials have wifi and can do something "smart".
