Let's face it: the only good song she's done since 'The Fame Monster' was 'Edge of Glory'. All the others are either poor or meh.
And Bad Romance. Both these songs are excellent.
I don't esp think her material for Artpop was even that bad, it's just that by the time it came out many people had lost interest in her.

I think ARTPOP was the worst kind of Generic pop with the exceptions of Swine and Gypsy. G.U.Y is her worst song to date. I still don't know how it became a single.

Gypsy was far and away the best song on that album. No idea why she didn't release it.

You could say the same about Beyonce. The singles she has brought out recently seem to have no commercial appeal at all on a hit radio type basis. She is the 1st or 2nd biggest live draw out there though.Gaga will still be in the top ten 'live' event attraction even if the albums / singles don't perform that well. The music industry has changed / is changing methinks.

You could outline, this fact to alot of people on pop forum's like this one, but I don't think they would have the least bit a apprehension on what direction the music industry seems to be going. There is still an appetite for hit radio 'at the moment'.Although listeners are falling amongst the young. There is very little hit music TV programmes being aired.30 somethings are basically keeping the 'hit radio' media format going. What will happen when 30 somethings turn into 40 somethings though. Can the 'hit format' be sustained by streaming which is young people's favourite method of listening.Even with millions of plays on the streaming format, the artist only get's back a few 1000 £$, if that even.

There is still alot of money to be made in the music industry, the singles / albums market is struggling though. It's becoming a promotional tool for selling tours, merchandise, endorsement's etc.
To have continued success with major tours, I think an artist needs to have something of a 'legacy' appeal. Both Madonna and Beyonce have that but I'm not sure any of the new pop princesses will be able to build the same reputation in the longer term. Even Rihanna who gets a lot of good press and has been around for over a decade has struggled with ticket sales for her Anti tour.

As for Gaga, to the general public, she's seen as a something of a novelty act from the late 2000s, with only a handful of major hits and in reality, there's probably not that many people who will want to fork out £70-£80, to see her perform Pokerface in a meat dress five years from now.

'Bad Romance' is a track on 'The Fame Monster' album.

I'm really enjoying Perfect Illusion and I think the video fits the song perfectly. I cannot wait to listen to 'Joanne'. I've enjoyed all of Lady GaGa's albums so far, and hopefully this one will follow suit.
