Okay Patrick is an attractive man, but hes a pensioner almost in the same league as Dot. Claudette looks young enough, so why isn't she perusing Martin, Kush, Grant, Jack, Jay,.... ?

They have some fond memories of that time Patrick tried to kill her then covered up the 'murder' with her son.
I find it strange how their relationship has progressed a lot more after he and Vincent tried to kill her! Before that, they were just flirting a bit. Seems like Claudette likes it rough!
Patrick is a very sexy man and knows how to please the ladies. Why should she settle for an amateur.
Patrick looks fantastic for his age, dating a younger woman suits him perfectly. His wife Yolande was a fair bit younger than him I recall. That's why I could never accept him and Cora as a couple because, despite actually being the same age, she looked far too old and haggard for Patrick who is very youthful in both his appearance and behaviour.
Also he didn't try and kill Claudette it was an accident and she fell down the stairs. Vincent was the one who buried her (badly) and bullied Patrick into keeping quiet. Other characters have forgiven people for far worse. Ronnie and Roxy living quite happily with Stacey as their neighbour - the woman who murdered their father - as one example.

I remember reading an article with Ellen Thomas who plays Claudette saying the character studied or knows psychology, something along those lines.
I think it'll be a slow burner but she'll make Patrick pay in some way.

He is an attractive man for his age. I hope she's not going to get revenge on him. It is strange that they seem to have got past that incident. Doesn't Patrick know she killed her husband?
Ellen Thomas is only 52!! Ridiculous that we are supposed to believe that she is in the same age group as Dot, Peggy, Pat etc., and that they all knew each other back in the old days

I didn't realise the actress was as young as 52, the character of Claudette however is meant to be 60 - her passport was shown onscreen earlier this year and showed a date of birth as March 1956. That still doesn't really make her old enough to have been an associate of Aunt Sal, Peggy and Eric Mitchell in the 1960s though as we've been led to believe.
It was established she killed her husband in 1981 that would have made her just 25 at the time. And she was supposedly in love with Eric Mitchell who would have been about 50. Claudette is only 5 years older than Phil.
For the backstory to have worked it would have made more sense to cast an older actress as Claudette.
I think they're trying to recreate the Patrick/Yolande dynamic. I agree it's a bit strange Claudette geting together with a pensioner. I don't buy it at all to be honest. Both characters are good but their previous history together included him finding out she's a murderer and then helping to cover up her "death". Are we supposed to just forget about that?

I was a bit surprised by that, but she looks her age, and a lot better in real life. The styling on EE really ages her.

where was it said they knew each other from the 60's? Claudette worked in the Roxy the bar that Eric mitchell and crew frequented.Her husband used to do jobs with them. its normal younger folk try and get involved in gangs etc
Anyways to the OP Claudette is 60 and patrick is more her age range than someone half her age

I actually thought Claudette was about 70 so I'm really shocked that she's supposed to be only 60 & the actress is only 52! I just thought Claudette looked good for her age that's all. So she's supposed to be younger than Kathy??? No one looks their age on EastEnders! It's like Louise, we're supposed to believe she's only 14 but she looks older than Ben, Courtney & Jay
