That shot is so telling about couple chemistry between E&K and the others!

Love this tweet from Neil Jones, trying to encourage Ed not to worry about going wrong. Katya looks gorgeous! https://twitter.com/mr_njones/status/784096542491811840

Brilliant! It's strange how a guy who doesn't even have a partner this year comes thro with such a strong character

Yes! Loving these two. Great addition to the Strictly Team.

Ed's turning out to be pretty darn good himself!

'Not the best dancer but definitely the most fun', Len.

Loved Bruno's Green Party joke too. That'd have got you suspended from the LP during the leadership election! Effing McNicol et al.

Fabulous routine. I love the way Katya has choreographed and worked with Ed. So good and in faith with the process.

Haha for Len's reproof to Craig, 'What do you WANT out of life!?

Red hot!!

Absolutely love, love, love their partnership - just watching them at a distance is like crashing in on their P-A-R-T-Y!! They are the most deliciously fun couple I can remember - certainly up there with Iveta & Mark Benton. Yvette looks absolutely made up watching her hubby have such a blast. I dare say it puts quite a lot into perspective for them.

What fantastic fun that was.

Totally agree. I adore Katya and their routine tonight really put a smile on my face.

Absolutely! I think Fuchsia is right to look back to Iveta and Mark too. Both Iveta and Katya have worked with the dancer they have, built from the ground up instead of despairing and going the comedy route.

It's so refreshing

I had a smile on my face the whole routine.

If they deliver a salsa like Mark and Iveta's I'll be very happy

Not to mention the cha cha - probably my favourite SCD dance of all time (and I've watched it from Series One. )

I'm too much of a non-dancer to remember, what was the dance where Mark in character was an impressario? I can see it and hear the music in my mind. It was utterly delicate and beautifully acted...

Ed is throwing himself into this much more whole-heartedly than I expected. I bet he's learning loads

I'm not sure which one you have in mind. This is the cha cha, though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crv-0jHOcX4

This weeks SCD episode is up on iPlayer - just rewatched Ed & Katya and have laughed my socks off. He's really embracing the whole experience. Must be such a release from 'real life'.

Love Ed think he is safe this week. I think he has title of best politician to ever dance on Strictly. God knows why he was so unpopular as a politician he really is very funny.

Hope he makes Blackpool. But its a very strong year this year.

Ta! I got them mixed up in my mind. It's the waltz I was trying to remember -- just achingly real. I loved it. (It got mushed up in my memory with the AS to Madness).

Agree about Ed. He's so *there* now. Nerves gone. Caution gone. He's just in it

Looking at Yvette again, I reckon she'd quite like to be 'just in it'. She appeared to be really quite emotional.

Wonder what he'll be dancing next week? Must be a ballroom - quickstep or a VW?

I did some research into Katya Jones and now I now why she has such beautiful features. With a Korean mother and Russian father she has the best of both. And aren't we lucky to have her. I didn't even know she was married to Neil Jones. Wow. I do like them both. Katya is a great teacher and only 22.

Ok hands up!!
I was determined to hate Ed Balls on Strictly and desperately hoping he would be dumped the first week....

Then along came the gorgeous little bundle of fun, energy & talent that is Katya & blew all my plans clean out of the water!!

What she has done with Ed since that launch show is nothing short of astounding & their partnershop is now probably my favourite!! Not the best dancer by a long way but he's a damn site more intetesting than any of the ones who are!!

Thanks Katya!!

Ed has been a revelation ! !, rumour has it that he will be doing the jive to the Jerry Lee Lewis classic Great Balls of fire, that could bring the house down.

I'd like him to have the jive next week really. If he has ballroom he may lose momentum. Maybe a sparky tango might do it though. QS or Foxtrot is likely to be a bit meh.

Yes I'm in that boat Just goes to show you shouldn't judge until you've seen them in action. Note to self lol. I'm so glad he was partnered with Katya now - I was actually disappointed she'd been "lumbered" with him at first

Anyway, his samba has been added to my Videos To Watch When In Need Of Cheering Up list
