I don't know what's going on with the forum these days but i'm seeing more forum police in the threads than ever before. Since when is it acceptable to be chastising Fms for starting a perfectly legitimate thread? Or telling people what they can or can't post (i've seen this especially in relation to any discussion around Georgia and Giovanni, or the Cliftons)

It's making DS an unpleasant place to be. God knows what any new poster would think of it.

Seconded and the moaning and nastiness (not in this thread though ) really irks me.

I don't think there's a problem with people posting a new topic at all, but there is something exhausting about the same topic being reposted as a new thread every few days (like the Clifton ones) and it's inevitable that when threads become repetitive and 'unconstructive' things become tetchy.

In the case of the OP, I think the responses might have been expressed in a friendlier way, but the point was that there exists already a place for these little news snippets. I know in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter, but the forum would just be easier to navigate and more pleasurable to participate in if there were fewer threads covering the same or similar ground.

I was told off for being too positive on a thread which wasn't in the Appreciation Attic.

I was told I was off topic and if I was determined to keep being positive then I had no place on the thread (Your thread titles make me laugh Terry).

I can imagine the conversation in he drag testing office: 'Let's wait and see which professional dancer he's got. Ok, he's got Natalie - we want to meet her so let's test him on a weekly basis throughout his time on Strictly.'

It is from the Olympics...they will call on you unexpectedly a few weeks after the games...as some drugs remain in the body.

It's more than that, as an elite athlete he has to let the IAAF know where he is at all times as athletes can be randomly tested anytime anywhere even out of competition and they have to be available.

Can we slot in a totally random test about half 6 a week on Saturday? And if we have to stay for the show, never mind . We could always totally randomly test Claudia the week after ...

Nice interview with him. Let's just get this sport thing out of the way quickly and let's talk about Strictly

Well at least they know where he is!

Olympic fans will remember the headlines and fuss caused over Lizzie Armistead and her 3 missed tests.

The athletes have to notify them where they will be for a specified period on certain days, the test officials can them appear without warning during that period. It continues the whole time they are an active athlete, through training.

It fits well with the end of the Olympics when many athletes retire and also the Summer season of main athletics events comes to an end.
