Casual racism.... how Russian

Worse than his stereotyping of Italians for me was the way he chose to interpret Alja˛ and Janette's kindness to Daisy at an emotional time for her

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/strictly/...Gleb-Savchenko

This is the original article with double quotes, which doesn't make him sound any better. I agree he can have his own opinions on who is attractive but I don't know why he needs to share them in an interview. It sounds unkind, or at best thoughtless.
I agree.

It's not helpful to Giovanni. Giovanni knows that it's part of his job to be professional, and that includes not making out with the celebrities in the way Gleb is suggesting.

Daisy and Laura are two of the celebs who's dancing has potential to benefit most from chemistry on the dancefloor, so I hope they and their pros will be able to ignore the speculation and still bring chemistry to their dancing.

Laura & Gio and Daisy & Aljaz are my two favourite couples this series but I'm not going to write Gleb off based on a few carefully edited quotes.

Something gets lost in translation, more so when the words are in print as he could well have been laughing as he made the comment about Giovanni being Italian. Gleb's very tongue in cheek a lot of the time. A sarcastic joke along the lines of 'yeah he'll get with everyone, sure' wouldn't surprise me at all. I never saw any problem between Gleb and Giovanni last series.

Perhaps because of the issues he and Elena had in the past he really gets how people get carried away in a bubble on these shows and things happen that wouldn't if they were in a more 'normal' environment.

As far as the comment on Daisy goes, what comes before it doesn't flow and it looks like separate comments have been edited together to me.

Yep, I can just see Claudia and Greg standing at the side of the dance floor complaining about Ed and his 'small gains'

I guess he has the £200 to bet after selling that opinion.

Gleb now seems less of a loss.
Not pin pointing at you, fatskia, honestly.

BUT! Do we really want to be doing this, dissing anyone at this stage? Seems really unhelpful and unnecessary really.

I just want to watch a dance show, with good dancers, and willing celebs to learn.

Can't be doing with this tarring. Really. Totally. I'll get my coat on the way out

This thread is a bit old but I thought this article had interesting snippets about Strictly, especially Jay's comment that some celebs are booked a year ahead.
It is an interview with Jay and Aliona about their appearance in Keep Dancing in Edinburgh in November. Also Aliona confirms she is moving to Florida.

Not a contestant yet but comedian Sarah Hadland from Miranda says she has been asked to do Strictly several times.

She has a case.

The BBC always want the show to be better than the previous year. So much easier to get some really good dancers in a "spectacular" final, if the best have previous experience.
