Cain is loyal and looks out for his own.

Ross is utterly self centred and cares about no one but himself. He would sell his Grandmother into slavery, if he could find a buyer.
Yes, ultimately the Dingles look out for each other. Finn and Emma are the only two Barton's worth bothering about imo

Cain is by no means perfect. However, he is loyal and he does care for his own. So, in my books, that means he's not self centred.
Oh come on teifi.
Look at how he treated Amy when she was pregnant with his child?

I just think it's funny trying to have a moral compass about Ross yet theres always an excuse for Cain

I have no issues with soap criminals such as Cain or Ross - as long as there's no hypocrisy.

Ross has committed crimes. I admit it. However Cain is as bad.

No too sure that I would bother with Emma either!

Well, I did say that Cain wasn't perfect. I deprecate his behaviour with Amy and, until more recently, Kyle too. However, he does have some redeeming features in that he is loyal to and does care about those who he's accepted as his own.

On the other hand, Ross has no redeeming features at all. He doesn't even care about Moses (he had to be bullied into taking an interest by the needy Emma) and when did he last show any interest in April? He only wanted Debbie because she was Pete's girl. Then Donna, that was just for a bit of excitement and a bit of extra cash, I'm sure.

Cain is one of the most self centred characters in soap
Indeed.

But then he is a Dingle; the bulk of them are self-centred.

But Sorcha you and some other posters do exactly the same for Ross, it's s pots and kettles here! As Teifboi says, Cain is far from perfect, he's s done terrible things. I still think he's s ultimately a nicer, more interesting and ( from my perspective) more attractive character. Dross has daddy issues and had it bit rough, and that's s shaped who he is. I get that. I had a Dad with undiagnosed mental health problems who could be violent, was constantly stressed due to his horrible job and rarely spent any time with us, or even spoke to us.If he hadn't t been a policeman I swear he's d have needed a map to find my school.. So like Ross and probably about 70% of the country my childhood was not pefect! People like Cain had a heck of a lot worse. My Dad had worse - I won't t go into the details of that. If Ross had grown up with a use and neglect he'd be Reggie Kray the second d coming. Except even Reggie would have thought about his Mum when he found out his Dad was having an affair.
