It's disgusting and further proof that TBTB are so obsessed with the 'awe-inspiring' name 'Mitchell' that they will destroy any and every storyline and character to glorify them.

It is almost sinister.

It has been damaging the show for many years (the lack of any credible villains due to King Weeble's invincibility for example) and there seems to be no way back.

Mitchell storylines are pantomime and cliched it's become all about them yet again and Les and Pam have now been booted off the show as well.

Why not rename the show EastMitchells and have done with it?

I agree with what has been said. A story of a young man killed in a homophobic attack has descended into farce.

Pam and Les are the only two characters to come out of this with credibility. Their grief has been raw and come across very realistic on screen portrayed by Lin and Roger. Even Louise has come out of this storyline as perhaps the most human of the Mitchell's.

A secret son, vigilante attacks, an estranged uncle, a dying man and a pathetic gang who look like an X-Factor boy band have ruined the storyline. I think it's disgraceful. It also shows that homophobia is not taken serious and gay men get a very raw deal.

SOC needs to fire Alex Lamb, or watch the show lose more viewers.

Agreed. It's just been an excuse to give the Mitchell's more screen time when it should mostly be about Pam and Les. It looks like tonight's episode ends with the Mitchell's as well

Is anybody surprised? The rape storyline was exactly the same...what should've been a sensitive and hard-hitting storyline turned into a sensationalised "who's the daddy" story and served as a plot device to reveal the Mick/Shirley secret.

I'm hoping SOC, once he really puts his stamp onto the show, puts an end to the farce of these type of plots.

I previously made a comment about this.

Grant already had the Mark jnr reveal storyline.

They did not have to kill Paul off, that was ludicrous?? Makes no sense whatsoever.

I really don't understand the criteria they use to determine how long characters stay for?

There is far too much dead wood in Eastenders they could have culled without killing Paul off. He and Ben had so much potential

Mitchell, Mitchell, Mitchell - TBTB are locked into this mindset and have been for many years.
