Evening all,

Today I noticed a strange issue with a few photos and videos on my new Samsung Galaxy S7. The first few photos and videos I took on it have vanished from the Gallery app. Strangely, when I go to the My Files app and go so the folder all my photos are in (SD Card, DCIM, Camera) they are there and open/play fine. For some reason though, they are no where to be seen in the Gallery app at all. Luckily I use Google Photos so everything backs up automatically, and I back up my phone to my PC often.

Does anyone know why they disappeared and if I can get them to return?

Many thanks,

Ryan

Hi, you haven't by chance made them hidden under Private Mode? You can check by pulling down the screen (where WiFi, data etc are) and selecting Private Mode, if they are under this you'll see them again.
Just an idea.

No, I've not used private mode on my phone so I doubt it's that. The photos do appear on the My Files app, just not in the gallery app. It's very strange!

Okay worked out why mine is showing differently. Gallery is Samsung's app and the Google Photos app is linked to the cloud backup which Gallery isn't. They solvrs my issue, but no help for you, sorry.
