That was surprisingly good compared to Tuesday. I felt quite emotional seeing Colin at the end and bringing him into this Paul storyline was a stroke of genius showing how far society has advanced but also how far it hasn't with Paul's senseless murder. EE bugs me as it can be so good but so bad in the same week. Nice they finally remembered Kathy.

The only bit that jarred was Jane as some kind of benign Corpse Shuffling Oracle dispensing wisdom to Grant and Claudette crying over Paul just made me think of Fatz.

I disagree with those that say Grant can't act. I thought he was good today and the Mitchells work much better when they are understated.

I think that happens in most daily soaps.

Ross can act, people forget that the bro baldies have this horrible nasty side that came from their father and the softer side which they'd rather not snow. Both phill and grant are complex characters.

Yes, Ross was always good at the man tears.

Grant did in one small conversation what Phil hasn't done in a lifetime - accepted Ben for who he is. He was excellent tonight in general. Telling Phil just how it is for one.

Silvie can still do the splits!

#Akward Grant, Courtney and Mark.

Poor, poor Pam. Glad her sister pushed her to finally make that final goodbye.

Lol, Ian getting Grant-walloped.

For once, I agree with Sharon, Mark is better off not knowing about Grant.

Jane, whyyy. Mark has a father already! Why ruin his whole world like this.

I love the fact Grant doesn't give two shits Ben is gay whereas Phil has always struggled with it. Despite Grant being hot headed and thuggish he has always been more open minded compared to Phil, even all the way back to the 90s so its nice to see they remembered this aspect of his character.

I do despair at the people who think Ross Kemp cannot act but I think its an age thing.

I think Roger is also a decent actor especially as Christine. I've always rated Ross too.

I know people don't have to like characters but that doesn't make the actors bad imo.

I loathe Aaron from Emmerdale for example but he's a fantastic actor.

Hear hear. Grant was always the better man despite his temper and that was down to PTSD from his army days. Sharon drove me mad when she went on to Phil about how damaged/broken Grant is. Phil os by far the more damaged of the two imo - a nasty vicious homophobic thug.

Grant hitting Ian made me cheer out load last night. He has been brilliant thid week and I will miss him terribly. He brings it all to life somehow. I wish with all my heart he would come back for good I just love him

I totally agree Collins

I would love Max and Grant to become friendly too. TPTB please do everything to get Grant back permanently

Ross has so much charisma and the show lifts even when he's on screen for only 5 minutes

Good morning sorcha

Yes a Grant/Max friendship would be a lovely thing! I can't wait for Max's return either.

And just to add Sharon and Ian were very wrong not to tell Mark the truth once they realised there was an attraction between him and Courtney. Even if nothing physical happened they were developing feelings for each other which is just as bad.

Nasty selfish sanctimonious gits the pair of them.

It's a controversial view but I wish they have never done the Mark Junior reveal storyline and Grant is a thug and he hasn't really changed. To be honest, I have never liked him since his horrific treatment to Tiffany and I don't get the hype for him. I'm pleased he is leaving tonight and hopefully we will get some new exciting characters. The show needs to move forward, not backwards. I would like the Mitchell's to take a long break.

I want Grant, Mark and Courtney to stay and for Grant to run the pub with Belinda. It just seems so perfect! all this is possible but not likely to happen

That would be so good

Instead we are back next week to more Carter drivel. I despair at the thoughts of yet more scenes of Mick worrying over Linda worrying over Ollie and Linda interfering in Whitneys pregnancy. Sigh.

It's not impossible and it could happen in 5/10 years time because Ross is a very busy man who enjoys making documentaries and he doesn't seem the type of person to stick around for the long-haul. If Grant comes back permanently, I think the writers would reunite him and Sharon which is predictable. Belinda needs a new love interest but I hope O'Connor brings in someone for her.

I don't see the point of this storyline. 3 of the characters involved aren't sticking around, so we won't get to see the full effects of the reveal. Also, it looks like Grant won't tell Mark the truth. Besides that, I am so bored of the Mitchells.
