I don't see the point of this storyline. 3 of the characters involved aren't sticking around, so we won't get to see the full effects of the reveal. Also, it looks like Grant won't tell Mark the truth. Besides that, I am so bored of the Mitchells.
So pleased someone else agrees with me
I'm frustrated that many of the storylines are about the Mitchells. Denise's story will be all about Phil when the truth is out

I wouldn't be adverse to this storyline if it was handled better and Grant/Mark are permanent characters but they will leave tonight and I think this storyline is unnecessary but DTC couldn't resist revealing the 20 year old secret. It has also tarnished Michelle as a character.

I'm hoping that Phil never finds out about Denise's baby.

That would be so good

Instead we are back next week to more Carter drivel. I despair at the thoughts of yet more scenes of Mick worrying over Linda worrying over Ollie and Linda interfering in Whitneys pregnancy. Sigh.
Oh god I hate the Carter's too!! People say the Mitchell's have no morals but Babe stole all that money and Mick dropped it all just because Babe said she was 'sorry'. Say what you want about Peggy but she wouldn't have stood for it. People also say Ross Kemp cannot act well Danny Dyer leaves a lot to be desired. I will be happy when the Carter's leave altho I do like Shirley and Sylvia is entertaining. Johnny could be great if they pair him with Steven but Mick, Linda, Tina and Babe just bore me. Like you say Mick goes in constant circles. Its just repetitive now. Danny plays out the same scene in almost every episode. There is no progression. I loved the idea of putting a new family in The Vic but for me it didn't work, for a start Lee, Nancy and Johnny should have all been teenagers not in their early 20s. That limited the family from the get go. Not to mention it means Mick got Linda pregnant twice before she was 16. Which is bizarre in itself. I mean what the hell were Elaine and Stan doing while all this was going on? I think DTC wanted the Carter's on screen and rushed them through without thinking it through properly.

People are praising Les and calling Grant wooden?

What programme are people watching?!
Roger Sloman obviously attended the same drama school as Simon Gregson judging by the amount of gurning going on. He's bloody awful and I can't wait to see the back of him. Pam should stay though.

I agree the Mitchells have had their day (sometime back in the mid-90s) and need to be gone ASAP. Not Ben though (I've always thought him more as a Beale anyway), or Jay for that matter.

And as for Kathy... words fail me. An awful character played by a mediocre actress brought back from the dead for no good reason, who's brought nothing to any storyline she's been involved with.

My favourite bit this week so far? Dot in her dressing gown saying "I can't receive no-one. I'm in me dishabille".

All true. For so many reasons they just don't work anymore. Their storylines are repetitive and there is little or no character progression. Their hypocrisy and sanctimonious attitudes to people like Jay when they are harbouring Babe in their midst makes them so unlikeable imo.

"By all accounts you've made a right mess of bringing up Courtney."

Says the bloke who's hockey stick wielding minor son is banged up for killing his sister (who wasn't exactly known for her pleasant personality either), while his sometimes psycho stepson is trying to work out how to replace the money he lost the family business when his gran's shagathon in a working kitchen invalidated the bogus insurance claim and his only sane offspring is on the other side of the world refusing to speak to any of them.

Absolutely loved Grant thumping Beale. He should have delivered a swift uppercut to McBeale as well, those horrible scumbags need to be taught a lesson.

I love the fact Grant doesn't give two shits Ben is gay whereas Phil has always struggled with it. Despite Grant being hot headed and thuggish he has always been more open minded compared to Phil, even all the way back to the 90s so its nice to see they remembered this aspect of his character.
Yes. Was it Grant who stopped Peggy goading Mark over having HIV?

And just to add Sharon and Ian were very wrong not to tell Mark the truth once they realised there was an attraction between him and Courtney. Even if nothing physical happened they were developing feelings for each other which is just as bad.

Nasty selfish sanctimonious gits the pair of them.
It's not their place to tell him. It should come from Michelle which is why this storyline is so daft.

It may not be their place to tell him but rather that than allow him to fall for his sister
