What did you think Aaron's game plan was?

In any case, he seems to be a counterexample to the claim that you can't have a pre-conceived game-plan and win. (Nothing says a pre-conceived plan can't can flexible and adaptive, btw.)

That's a bit like saying you'd have nothing but respect for a thief who never got caught.

“I think Chris R came close to that in his series but of course it was manipulated with Helen's ticket to the final and lots and lots of outside influence.”

Who is Chris R and in which series?

Being deliberately and unnecessarily stroppy at the drop of a hat.

Engineering pointless feuds with love-interest Faye

Taking to his bed because he 'hated' R&B then doing a blatant rip-off of the brilliant Alex Sibley moment to Craig David's 7 Days.

How to get airtime 101

Actually, it's NOTHING WHATSOEVER like saying that.

Theft is a criminal act, as you are well aware, participating in a reality TV show and being a game-player obviously is not.

Just imagine that the idiom didn't happen to use the word "game".

But not everyone appears to be able to make that distinction? The term gameplayer is used in a regular and monotonous fashion these days. game player or player makes no difference to most people.

So there's noting wrong with being underhand, dishonest, or manipulative ? That is game-playing in itself in the pejorative use of the phrase. And so what if such tactics work? How's that supposed to make it ok?

It depends on the context and depth, even what on the surface appear to be the most blameless hms, even winners like Cameron or Rachel still got accused of being fake or gameplaying by some!

So what if it makes sense? If a 'below the radar' strategy makes sense in the way you suggest, that doesn't mean that viewers can't rightly despise it.”

As i said, in order to progress in a game like BB, it is vital to appeal to the largest portion of the viewers and the first step to achieve that is to avoid giving them reasons to dislike you and the easiest things to avoid are avoidable arguments and responding in kind to negative comments from fellow hms. Giving as good as you get is not always the smartest strategy imo.

But further to that, if someone just is naturally non-confrontational and not given to take negative comments personally and/or burst into tears or feel the need to start an argument everytime something negative is said about them, the lack of an overly emotional response from a hm will always be seen as as a deliberate attempt to avoid drawing attention to themselves as a deliberate tactical ploy - the classic "flying under the radar" idiom. But some people just are naturally like that, i know this becaue i am one of them - if i were ever to be in that situation and for example in the classic BB scenario of being shown who nomd me - i am not the type to kick off and demand answers from all who dared to nom me, i would just shug my shoulders and say ok, now whats for dinner, i really would not let it affect me because its part of the game and its how i would always deal with something like that, not an attitude i would adopt to help me win etc. But i know i would be accused of being a gameplayer due my calm and casual acceptance of something like that. The biggest irony is that if a hm kicks off over something negative they will get criticised for lack of self control but if they dont kick off then they will be accused of flying under the radar!
