I wish she'd come to Emmerdale to play the other White daughter.”

Now that would be brilliant Gulfie

I'm glad you enjoyed Leela's scenes with Sienna. Peri has gone up in my estimation having supported Leela over Tegan when Ziggy declared his love for Tegan, and becoming feistier since then. Leela & Peri might be my favourite mother & daughter relationship in soap now.

The drama and dialogue have been well-written, apart from the plot twist where Nico confessed but still escaped arrest with Sienna taking the blame.

It is dreadful that we suffer more Nico, but I doubt Sienna has really left.

Responding to both these posts, I understand that Nico was due to be in until at least October, as announced at the start of the year, so hopefully her comeuppance will finally happen then.

She is indeed an excellent actress. There is still some mileage left in this storyline yet.”

She tweeted freesienna as well, so doubt this is the end

Yes it was delightful to see them as friends again. Who needs sunshine when we have such agreeable posts from Rain?

While we know that they moved his body without reporting the crime, and even tampered with evidence this way, they will probably not be charged with anything.

Yes, I spotted #FreeSienna too. I think it is a new feature of Hollyoaks to include a mid-episode Tweet to sum up the main development so far in that episode.

I'm in two minds about this - if Anna is leaving, then I wish her the best (and the average acting quuality in HO will drop by about 50% in consequence) but at the same time I'll miss the crazy but somehow immensely likeable anagram of "Insane".

Mind. Blown.

How did I not spot that before??

She isn't leaving yet, and hopefully not for a while, Anna is brilliant and its amazing to think she wasn't the first choice to play Sienna!

I've been referring to Sienna as "Insane" on and off for probably a couple of years now (and I still want to know whether it was intended by TPTB, or just completely accidental)

Also, I like your synopses of "POV Week", look forward to seeing the other three.

EDIT - Is there any information about who was the first choice to play the part?

I think the end of the episode made perfect sense - it wouldn't have worked if Sienna had given Nico up. There is no way someone who wants to be the perfect mother would betray her own child whatever she had done, Sienna is deeply flawed and had a far from good childhood and her behaviour has never been logical or thought through. I think Nico will get her comeuppance eventually and I don't think Sienna will be convicted. Good episode and I particularly liked the end scene with Patrick - said it all

There is an actress Sienna Miller, so the character name was not quite invented for Hollyoaks. Just as Sienna is an anagram of Insane, so Peri is an anagram of Ripe. We should think up some more HO anagrams!

I know you've been calling her 'Insane', though I never realised it was because it was an anagram until today though

Aww, thanks. I'm halfway through Nico's, I'll try to finish her one and Warren's one before tomorrow's thread

Yep. Here's the first and only picture of Emily Lawrance as Sienna http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/holl...r-twin-sister/

Fantastic idea

Though incidentally, Peri is past her best, way beyond ripe

Now there's a Wonkyoaks post

Nice Sienna Miller mention too

I wasn't implying the name was invented, more speculating on whether the name being an anagram of "insane" was a sort of hidden joke from the production crew.

Admittedly some anagram names are invented for a purpose. A key example is Axl Rose from Guns'n'Roses.

I'll take that as a compliment about Peri.

Glad you liked my impromptu mention of Sienna Miller.

Something occurs to me that could interest the actor who plays DS Armstrong. If you take an anagram of the initials of the regular abbreviation of JohnPaul, together with the actor who plays Ryan, you could get ... wait for it ... PJ & Duncan!

I could get used to coming here twice midweek like I have recently.

It is unusual for us to reach 8 pages on the Hollyoaks Daily Thread these days.

I always thought it was W. Axl Rose - an anagram of "Wax Loser". (Or possibly "Woral Sex", whatever that means.)

OK, the anagram is a bit convoluted, but I'll give you that

Of course, this is the best PJ and Duncan moment

Yeah. It's nice the thread has done a lot of pages tonight. Hopefully this will become a more regular thing

I always thought that the best part of any PJ & Duncan track was that bit where it....like...goes down in volume...and then ends...!

On the subject of angrams, should we have a competition for the best anagram of Diego Salvador Martinez Hernandez De La Cruz?

Re names

Sienna has been in use as a name for a long time in recognition of the city and also colour.

Peri is slightly more interesting because it was invented for A Doctor Who companion in 1984 - at least Perpugilliam was which Peri was short for. They'd had several unusual names, including Romana, Leela and Tegan but Nyssa and then Peri were the first they believed they'd invented.

However, this works in Hollyoaks as they established right at the start that Danny and Sam were Who fans and had named all their children after companions. A tradition continued with Rose. Even Ste fits in, as there was a male companion called Steven in 1965.

Now I've bored you, I'll bid goodnight.

Re Sienna being an anagram of insane, it is possible they did it deliberately - it would seem to be a much more exotic name than Mark for when Patrick and Anna named their children.

I'd always just assumed it was meant to indicate Patrick being quite cultured - to name his child after a city renowned for its Art and Music, not to mention natural beauty.

Absolutely love Nathan as a character. Would ,over to see the three develop a real bond.

I thought this was just me but losing Marnie and Mac would be ace- a family of four headed by Neeta has so much scope.

I have always been so annoyed that have never gone down the route of showing Sienna's rehabilitation. This could be a great storyline!

Me too, the only scenes I remember of her treatment is where she was making a model boat! That and a couple of times she mentioned her therapist. This is a character that is mentally ill and they only use her to cause trouble, it's insulting.
