I just cannot understand why they are being axed. They are so fascinating and I cannot believe the writers have run out of material for them.

It's ridiculous! Especially with the likes of Shakil still around I'm going to really miss these two

They've had a great year and the show really could do with keeping characters like this as regulars, best to go out on a high though

Terrible decision. I really like Les and I wanted to see Pam finally accept Christine.
They had great potential there for a growing friendship between Pam and Christine which could have been explored.

Agree. I would dearly love to see the back of annoying Carmel and bunhead

there story is at an end. Most characters have a 3 year shelf life. Move on.

Sorry but I really don't agree with this. It is all done to the ingenuity of the script writers. Ian Beale has been on the square for years and still has interesting storylines. Pam and Les do still have some mileage definitely with the Christine story.

So am i. I love Pam and Les. They remind me of my grandparents anyway.

But character's stories come to an end and I feel it is just right for them to move away and start a new chapter in their lives off screen now that their grandson has died.

This sounds awful but maybe for health reasons they need to go

What an odd thing to say. Your posts really become stranger by the day.

Not been there biggest fans but i really feel that Pam has been a good character over the last year or so who was missing better characters to play off. I did not mind Les when he was a bit part player but...still think the writers let them down with the crossdressing storyline (could have been done much more better than that).

I agree I very much like them but they were the easy targets for the new EP, Paul having been killed off and with the obsessions with huge extended famillllleeeeeees on EE and their lack of one there was no surprises they were given their marching orders but was very much the wrong decision in my opinion. Love Les and Pam and Les is hilarious at times and most importantly interesting.

I agree when people were slating Roger's acting I think that they did not realise he was supposed to be a bit over the top.

His first performance as Christine was special when it could have been a total disaster.

They are both excellent.

Still as long as we see Mitchells infesting the screen 24/7 TPTB think that everyone is so very happy.

Les is nice but a terrible actor, Pam plays the sweet caring lady when really she can be quite mean. I'm not fussed about their exit, there's nothing to really have to offer imo.

I don't trust the new producer's judgement if he cannot see what good characters Les and Pam are.

With Pam and Les you had two people who interacted with all age groups....

As has been said, a terrible decision to scrap them.

I'd like to have seen Les grow in confidence with regard to his cross dressing and the community accept his choice.

Wasted opportunity by the producer/storyliners.

Agree, especially since there is so much deadwood Belinda, The Caricature Mitchells, Shakeil,

Agreed, and she would of been a great angle/story for a couple months. She would of been a great character to bounce off for Pam and an example off why Pam would always struggle for Les to go public over his crossdressing, the sister seems to be one of those judgemental bigoted type.

Pam is tiresome. Everything is always about her and her feelings. Les treats her like a piece of fragile glass. Newsflash, Birdie! Your husband lost Paul too! Bitch!
