What do you think of him so far? I find him cringey plus his accent should atleast be explained, grew up in America but has an British accent. Maybe i'm being harsh but he does nothing for me same as Courtney.

Accent is utterly implausible, and they've laid it on way too thick with the crap contrived writing what a "propa Mitchell" he is with the baseball bat and being a "bit mouthy".

Yankee Doodle Jr can go back to the states to be with his lying mother.

Nothing special but I don't hate him.

Well, he is very nice to look at , but I agree he has been badly written. I want him to say full time, but I can't think of a reason for him to stay in the Square right now.

He's okay just sort that hair out, son. I really like Courtney it'd be great to have her stay a while.

I can see why they told him not to attempt a dodgy American accent even if the reasons given are completely implausible. He should still come out with American sayings though and talk like an American would using a bit of slang and use American English words. If they did this it would make him more believable.

The lack of Americanisms aside I think the character has potential and the above is not the fault of the actor who has been pretty good so far.

He should not be called Mark Jr. He's not Mark's son.

What is people's obsession with EE character's hairstyles

I find it utterly bizarre and slightly disturbing that characters/actors get slated for having hairstyles that are popular among a section of young people

I love his hair. I really really do. Has a slight Danny from Grease vibe with a bit of a James Dean edge. Very sexy.

That's who he reminds me of, not just in looks but in the way he's laid back. Courtney and Mark both come across as surprisingly mature and confident. Makes a nice change from the usual youngsters we get.

I'm sorry we didn't see more of him with Martin & co. I feel he'd have fitted in there better than at Ian's. And auntie Belinda would have enjoyed the view.

I agree that Courtney and Mark have been good additions it's a pity they are temporary and not permanent And like you I find it bewildering that Martin and Mark haven't had more scenes together. Martin Bye is fabulous and with the Fowlers being part of the foundation of the show it's appalling that they haven't had more scenes together.

I just think he looks a bit out of place and would suit something more modern. I guess having grown up in America fashion trends would be different there, though.

I like MyMark, although I think he's a bit unnecessary - at least as his paternity is concerned.

I'm not getting at you personally per se but there has been a lot of comments on DS lately concerning three characters hairstyles in particular Shakil, Mark and Paul and I find the vitriol (not displayed by you in this case) really awful and entirely out of line. Your comment just so happened to come to my attention at this moment and therefore was quoted but some of the comments are nasty and I'm sorry but I just find it weird that characters/actors are judged on a hairstyle. Characters can change their hairstyles, I'm not sure the said posters could change their personalities.

I like him but the daft way he has been introduced annoys me. On his own merits he has potential. As EE's biggest secret they've done him no favours by scattering the cast with secret kids and dads and that Michelle's letter rubbish so he becomes another also ran.

I was only joking though, and I don't usually comment on characters style or appearance but I don't think I've seen anyone Mark's age with that kind of style at least not English boys but perhaps I'm wrong about that and it's fashionable for some. It was just unusual to me but then I'm not of that generation and can't say I follow the latest trends for young people very much,

Yes. I think it looks great. He could return the favour Phil has done when the old brute laments 'Who is the mother of my secret son?' by crooning 'Denise is the bird'...
