Corrie released a statement a while ago saying that a 'favourite' character will die in an terrifying 'explosion'. They are lining up a sensational stunt which will leave several Weatherfield residents fighting for their lives. While further story details are under wraps at this stage, the stunt is set to be total carnage and could be up there with some of the best scenes in Corrie history. It was also revealed that there will be a huge stunt in Autumn which will be caused by David's grief following Kylie's death. Whether the two are related is unclear.

What could they possibly explode this time?

Too late, Dev's Kebab shop had the first option.

Spoiler
I think the only death will be Michael...and another "man in car" scenario, similar to the tram crash.

Any "major" characters who end up in hospital will all survive.

The last thing Corrie needs right now is one of its 'classic' disasters with no victims, nobody taking the blame, no serious damage to the set and everything being happily forgotten within an episode or two.

Another explosion? Can't they think of anything else?! the tram crash was started by an explosion,, Victoria court fire ended in an explosion,, the rovers fire ended in an explosion ,,, the who would have thought explosions could get boring?

You're so right-the only way to get the viewers full interest, i think, would be if we were told that there was going to be a major cull of characters, and with no spoilers leaked as to who they were going to be.

Yes otherwise it's just the same old same old we've already seen before. More character driven storylines and less stunts would be good. Why do big events always seem to involve explosions and fires it gets boring after a few times of it.

I wonder who they'll class as a favourite character. The writers seem to think Sean is a favourite so fingers crossed. He never used to bother me but he's been incredibly childish and annoying for a while now. Michael isn't a favourite - he's a simpering joke so it can't be him. I'll have a fiver on Tyrone. Him and Fiz should have been the new Jack and Vera but instead they had the over way too fast cancer storyline, the debt story that was just him not being able to afford a pint for a few weeks and Fiz saying awwww 'ope a lot. If not him then David.

Maybe we should check with gaspipe Leanne, see if she can give us a hint.

It won't be Sean. He's in it for life, unfortunately.

A gas explosion could sound similar to a Caz explosion, in case there is any such link. After all, there is no smoke without fire .....

Golden opportunity to have a large cull of the cast and get in some decent writers while they are about it, rather than churning out another episode per week. Corrie/ED used to be something to look forward to a few times a week instead of always being there, they've suffered as a consequence.

Something is being blown up over at Media City; a friend's ex works near to the backlot and posted onto Facebook what he'd heard.
