It could be a number 24 bus from Stockport, that was only introduced last Sunday.

So what the hell have they got left to explode!

Maybe a few characters could spontaneously combust and cause an explosion.

Nominations ...........

I think David will cause the explosion - there are spoilers about him taking a petrol can to Kylie's killer's court case but what I think will happen is, he will either change his mind or be talked out of it, bring it back to the street and it will somehow ignite and cause an explosion on the street.

Michael will die in the ensuing explosion (probably saving someone else) and Gail will blame David, or perhaps won't find out straight away but it'll come out later and there will be an almighty showdown between them as he is responsible for killing the love of her life (albeit by accident).

Like others I'm at a loss as to what they could explode this time, a Platt house fire would be rather distressing as that's such a classic interior set.

If they go down the route of a Platt house fire I'll be really annoyed with Corrie. As you say, it's now a classic interior set. It's one of the few sets that genuinely feels like a home and has a real connection to the characters who live there. Many of the pictures that Gail has dotted around the place have been there for years and it would be genuinely sad to see them go just to have another pointless explosion that has little impact on the characters.

This sounds dreadful. A half arsed, half cocked desperate lame attempt to jolt a bit of life into the show for about three episodes. Nobody will die (nobody important anyway), nothing will change, there'll be a few loud booms, some fancy fireworks a lot of badly acted squawking and wailing and then they'll all go back to being their boring, annoying awful selves. Nothing but bells and whistles.

But that's barely off the ground, if that were to happen it's gonna take another year or so to pull off that conversion,

I can see it being something to do with David. They are supposed to be exploring his evil side and it started with Lauren's new haircut on Friday.

I think its going to be the kebab shop. We will finally find out what that stuff on the stick is they're serving up. I can envision people running and screaming with napalm like bits stuck to them. I expect heavy losses. Prime lamb my ass, it was probably recycled resin from the paper boy all the time.

I wish the fire took place in Fiz and Ty's home. They had a wonderful opportunity to redo the place when the loft floor caved in but didn't. I keep half-expecting Jack and Vera to pop in or that character Gaynor Faye played in the 90s...name escapes me.

Michael is a certain goner. I think Todd will be the one on life support. Eileen by his bedside....yawn!

Fiz and Tyrone's house is forever a memorial to Jack and Vera. The cladding might not come off easily bit why keep it that blue and yellow colour? The street has to forever remain recognisable with the Rovers at one end, the corner shop at the other and the yellow and blue monstrosity in the middle.

Oh no! Scenes of Eileen and Gail at his bedside. Bedpans at dawn. Hilarious.

Michael is not a 'much loved character' more like a 'big waste of space'.

If Kate eally is doing a stunt, this would be a perfect oppertunity to get rid if some real deadwood. But istead of killing off a few people in a few episodes, stagger it out over a couple of weeks.

If you think that'll be hilarious you wait for when Michelle goes into labour.

Lots of 'comedy', Steve probably nowhere to be seen and Liz finding hot towels. Too posh to push.

Michelle will still look perfect. There won't be any smudged black mascara or thick black eyeliner running down her face as she performs the standard soap giving birth scene - scream and pull face.

Absolutely spot on KK!!

This is sounding like a desperate publicity stunt to paper over cracks for a couple of weeks!! Never a good idea!!

For those thinking
Spoiler
Ozzie
will be the victim I fully expect that to be somehow a part of the Caz/Maria obsession s/l!!
The explosion victim as Houndie says will almost certainly be
Spoiler
Michael & possibly another 'random!!'

Don't worry, Gail will manage to get identical furniture and luckily all the photos were scanned onto her cloud drive. She'll find the same frames and everything.

Pics in press today of David filling up petrol cans, so looks like it's definitely going to be him that causes (or starts) the disaster. I am very keen indeed to know exactly where this will kick off. It'll be surely being filmed in the next week or so which presumably means the stunt will happen in the first few weeks of November.

I'd advocate a relatively high body count (though we know only Michael will likely die). If it were me I would kill off:

Michael (die a hero, Gail devastated and later to discover her son was responsible)
Billy (actually murdered/left to die by Vinnie/Phelan after discovering the scheme)
Sonia (not before affair reveal, tearing Nazirs apart)
Freddie (paving way for Audrey/Ken romance)
Sinead (paving way for major grief plot for Ches)
Izzy (paving way for single-Dad in Gary and relationship with Sarah)

I'm tempted to say one of Luke, Steph or Andy as well, because they've never really gone anywhere and their deaths could be catalysts for other character stories, but I would probably chance giving them a meatier plot later and see how they go.

At least that way it'll make doing yet another explosion actually mean something and spark some storylines. Clear some of the deadwood out. Sadly though I don't think we've ever seen an event kill more than 2 main characters at a time on CS, maybe they don't want to upset the audience too much.

David causing the explosion?

Why? Why? Why? WHY?

Pushing the credibility of his character to limits that I don't think I'll be able to believe with this latest 'twist'.

Has nobody learned that turning a legacy character like David into a murderer/arsonist/serial killer/terrorist is ALWAYS a bad move?

Genuinely pissed off with Corrie right now.
