I don't understand what the point of introducing her briefly, without Paul even finding out who she was

Bit harsh that no one bothered to tell her?! Did she fall into the Gavin's Gang Black Hole?

As far as i'm aware there has been no mention of Paul's Mum being told about Paul's murder, seems such a wasted opportunity and a waste of time even bringing her in to be honest, though to be fair in real life not everything is resolved people do die without finding a long lost family member so you could argue it is realistic in that aspect.

I suppose a storyline was planned but quickly abandoned upon the decision to axe the character. But I agree, very bad continuity considering she was introduced.

I wouldn't bother her about it, it's only Paul after all.

Yeah I'm sure she's got some hair washing to do tonight.
Though seeing Paul's I wonder if they share the same philosophy on washing it

I have a feelin there's more to her return. Perhaps she was conned out of an inheritance when Paul's father died.

I agree totally, do the scriptwriters come up with a good idea and then throw it in the bin and think we won't notice that the storyline has just been cut dead. I really can't see the point in his real Mum being brought back at all.

I think the point is that Paul never found out. He died not knowing, and that just adds to the tragedy. But it also helped people think that Ben might be the character that died given that Eastenders can never seem to keep secrets buried.

If she does return, it'll be interesting and heartbreaking - but if she doesn't, thats okay as well.
