Corrie's Nostalgia
VoodooChic
09-09-2016
I know the show started in the Corner Shop and it's "iconic" - I really really really believe the nostalgia NEEDS TO END!!!. Get rid of the shop, close the gym. The Gym is an ideal position for a Freshco Express - the gym set is too small for a gym but IDEAL for a mid sized supermarket.
It would open - Dev would panic and eventually close. The residents would all feel guilty at shopping at the new supermarket but it's cheaper and times are tough moneywise. Dev would be destitute and in danger of losing his house.
The shop is bought by Phelan and converted into a student house.

Get rid of the Duckworth Museum, I still feel like Jack and Vera are about to walk into a scene in No.9.

Close the ridiculous factory - build a retirement block of flats - get some older characters in the show.

I can't even remember the last time we had a scene in No9.

Also, the only shops in Britain other than the Kabin that still sell sweeties in jars are
retro-themed and tend to be over-priced.

We have one - it's been there since before I was born. Changed names over the years but a proper sweet shop - not retro - REAL!

If a retirement block of apartments were built and you get rid of the older characters in the show they would all move into the retirement apartments and we'd see them every day in the pub and bistro.

We've got one too and it's certainly not overpriced! I can get more in there for 75p than the one ridiculously tiny bar of dairy milk you'd get for that from the other shops.

Talking of this, does anyone else notice how small all of the chocolate bars have got in the last couple of years? When did all the chocolate manufacturers get together and decide to reduce the size of all our favourites, like snickers, mars, twix etc? As for a Yorkie, that's a complete joke nowadays. 46g? It used to be 70!

The Rovers is the worst hub of nostalgia in Corrie at the moment.

It's the most badly laid out shop too with random products next to each other on the shelves.

I'll agree about Yorkie but some have actually increased in weight
