Good to know that some of us know that Andy is not the saintly, caring guy that so many seem to think. Reading up on his characters storyline reveals an unpredictable, violent personality. He burnt his mum to death when he deliberately set fire to the barn to get the insurance when the family were going to lose the farm. Admittedly he didn't know she was inside, but just the fact that he thought that arson was ok makes him pretty unstable IMO. Then he plans to wait for Robert in a caravan with a shotgun with every intention of killing him, but shoots his Dad by mistake!!!! Had he been successful, he would have committed cold-bloodied murder!!!! And if that wasn't enough, he then goes on to be a violent domestic abuser. And then the whole thing with Max's death that he and Robert were equally to blame for, but Robert is the one who gets all the blame. And if all that isn't enough, he reverts to type years later when he conspires with Ross to murder Robert when he returns to the village after discovering that Robert was responsible for Katie's death. Which in hindsight was an accident, unlike Andy's pre-meditated plan. When your aware of all of this, it's easy to understand Robert's resentment towards him and the need to make him suffer. But I've never known Robert to actually plan to murder him. As bad a person as Robert was, I honestly believe that he never intended to kill Katie. He was having far too much fun fighting with her. The only thing I can't forgive Robert for, is the way he treated Aaron throughout their affair. And then by extension, Chas, Paddy and the threats he made about Leo. I'm still bewildered how Aaron can move on from that and be with him. In fact, I don't think he's ever said sorry to Aaron for any of it. And as for Victoria, she's just as awful as her brothers. I hate her arrogant, mouthy assumption that her brothers are wonderful and any wrong-doing on their part is always a false accusation because other people do bad things, but never the Sugdens. She'll even decide who to blame, without any evidence (Aaron shooting Robert), and then demand that they pay for their crimes and be locked up forever because she says so. Conveniently overlooking the fact that her brothers deserve the same. In fact, all three Sugden siblings are quite vile characters. They believe their so much better than everyone else. I'd take the Dingles over them any time.
