When is he going to get a break?? Ben gets all the support and Jay is always left alone to struggle.

I read in another thread that he is having a months break. But then he is coming back.

Great news, he and Ben really need each other

I'm pleased to hear he's returning but he's still an easy target for the axe. I hope O'Connor keeps Jay and gives him some fresh new stories.

It's in one of the Eastenders threads. Sorry, can't remember which. Just hope he gets some happier storylines in future, or, at least, some support and love.

I really hope Jay comes back, he is one of my favourite characters. Good sign is there isn't everything saying Jamie has left.

I agree. He's my favourite. Very believable and a great actor. I really want his character to have some good luck though.

To be honest if all they can think to do with Jay is box him into a corner where people have been speculating for months that he's been leaving then I'd rather that was his final scene. I haven't enjoyed this constant 'will be or won't he go' stuff. If Jay comes back I hope it's with purpose and not just for another round of his kicked dog routine.

Yes (can't highlight on this phone) I'm also sick of the kicked dog routine. He deserves better.

Two things that I could think of that would bring Jay back:

He finds out about Ben donating part of his liver and comes back to either dissuade him or support him.

Ben takes over the Arches and begs him to come back.

Hopeful 3rd....Lola returns looking for Jay having realised she made a big mistake.

I love the third option. The first two I loathe, purely because I'm sick of Jay constantly being in a supporting role to bloody Ben.

The exit was strange, if indeed it is a months break, and I'm not so sure it is. If he is to comeback doesn't it just make a mockery of the character even further?

It would have been better to give him some reason to go off and not just some rushed exit as this seemed, I mean he didn't even say goodbye properly! Its as though nobody really cares for him that he left, why would anyone come back under those circumstances?

I found out that his family have recently started running a casting agency for young kids, fronted by his Mother and friend and I believe Jamie has part funded this from what info I've read. Could this be that he's aware his future on the show is in doubt and is perhaps finding other sources of income and using his reputation as an actor to enhance the business should he be axed from the show?

Their rTheirraionship is the best thing about both of them. Ben has been there for Jay through all his recent troubles. It's very much a two way thing.

We'll have to agree to disagree there.

That's very interesting. I hope ge goes on to better things, he deserves it. I'll definitely watch out for his progress. Good luck to him.

I wonder if he has gone to stay with Dawn and Gary (assuming they are still together)

Dawn was like a big sister to him and I recall Jay mentioning a few years ago that he was still in contact with her.

I can't help but feel that Jay has had a rough deal all round. I hope he returns and gets some luck soon.

I still can't find anything to suggest its either a full exit or just a break. The Radio Times article makes it sound like he has gone but DS hasn't mentioned anything about what Jay's status is.

If he has left then its pretty shoddy for them not to release a statement. He has been in the show ten years.

It is a break- not a permanent exit.

Might not even be a break. Could just even be for a few weeks.
