More realism and diversity would be a start.
Seeing Colin back made me realise how good and real/bleak EE used to be lol I'd like EastEnders to reflect modern day East London. Multicultural characters that have stories based around them as individuals not just because they are the 'NewJewish family' etc! |

in the words of frozen... let it go
seriously, you need to stop making personal and slanderous comments about forum members that you do not know never mind know what their beliefs are. Soaps are not there to preach about gay rights or rascism or equality or anything else they are there for entertainment. although you might actually learn. something if you re watch colins scene in the vic. I do knd of get where you are coming from but and it is a big BUT progression takes time. trying to make women equal happened long before being gay was decriminalised, yet women still face inequality and still have to fight for their rights. expecting people to change their views overnight just doesn not happen, that is why women are still not equal, it is why rascism still happens.. but as time goes on things improve, peoples mindsets change and those with abhorrant views die of. and a new generation comes to the fore with different beliefs. You can't change the world in a day. You can't expect everyone to share your view and you most certainly cannot label people as things they are not just because they do not share your view. gay marriage has only been legal since 2014 that is two years of dots life where she is in her late 70's, I think it is to be expected she would go with what she knows but at lesst her mind was open enough to listen and see beyond what she thought. And I certainly would not want them to be 'beaten up'. It's absolutely ridiculous. I do have beliefs and they don't always line up with the common views but none of those beliefs include alienating people and shouting abuse at them. I often keep them to myself but if someone asks I'll say it in an honest way. Just as I'd like to think someone can freely speak out when they don't agree with my views. And actually I'm quite happy to hear them, it's what makes this world a free place and a world we can actually discuss and learn from each other without being labeled vile names for not agreeing with someone. |

I don't care, as I won't be part of it.

my new regime didnt pan out too well and now that grant and mark jnr have gone and the secret ruined forever I can move on. Eastenders is in last chance saloon tho but I am open minded and I like the fact that Sock seems to want to do his job and not pander to the fans on social media. it is refreshing |

All the current stuff about The Archers makes me think SOC could be really good for the programme. I'd love a few proper serious and gritty storylines with real villains and sounds like he prefers realism to sensationalism. Another Little Mo / Trevor type storyline would be great.
